Position Summary: In this position you will be optimizing the utilization of Brookhaven NeuroRehabilitation Network’s (BNN) continuum of care by developing and maintaining relationships in designated markets with the professional community through a variety of strategic activities.

  

This role is an Exempt position with competitive salary and benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Providing professionals with information about hospital programs

- Creating opportunities for training and education of professionals

- Developing contracts for service between the hospital, Workers Compensation referral and payer sources

- Educating insurance, case management, and medical professionals

- Conduct evaluations of potential BNN patients in off-site locations, (remote and in-person)

- Provide families of potential BNN patients with advocacy, support and education

- Coordinate admission of potential patients with outside referral source and funding

- Coordinate administrative aspect of funding approval process as required by Workers Compensation insurance payers

- Initiate “prospecting” of potential new referral and funding sources through ongoing outreach activities

- Maintain existing relationships through ongoing contacts and customer service

- Represent BNN at area, regional and national conferences to maintain and grow presence in the brain injury community

- Coordinate conference activity with BNN speakers to maintain exposure

- Represent BNN program as assigned functions, meetings, and activities

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Must have a bachelor’s degree

- RN preferred

- Eligibility or maintenance of CRNN/CCM certification and credentials

- Minimum of 3-5 years experience

- Must have knowledge of specialty healthcare systems related primarily to mental health, TBI, neuro-rehabilitation, disability, and case management practices

- Knowledge of Workers Compensation and reimbursement issues

- Competent to administer, score and interpret required psychometric instruments, conduct face-to-face evaluation with a person with a severe brain injury; and review and integrate medical and rehabilitation information for the purpose of patient assessment and admissions consideration 

- Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physical Capability Requirements:

- Requires the ability to read, write, and process information accurately

- Requires the ability to sit or stand for long period of time

Requires the ability to walk long distances 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Eligibility or maintenance of CRRN/CCM certification
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience
  • Knowledge of mental health, TBI, neuro-rehabilitation, disability, and case management practices
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation and reimbursement issues
  • Competent to administer, score, and interpret psychometric instruments and conduct face-to-face severe brain injury evaluations
  • Ability to review and integrate medical and rehabilitation information for patient assessment and admissions consideration
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical capability to read/write, sit or stand long periods, and walk long distances
