THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

SANTANDER DIGITAL SERVICES/GLOBAL WORKDAY HUB TEAM is looking for a WORKDAY EXTEND/ INTEGRATIONS LEAD based out of MADRID.

You will be a key member of the Global Workday Hub Team, leading initiatives, mentoring colleagues, and collaborating with stakeholders in multiple countries. You’ll collaborate with Group HR, IT, and Compliance functions to define strategic roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and represent the team in global governance forums.

We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Design and develop end to end Workday Extend applications, including data modeling, UI design, orchestration logic, business process integration, and deployment lifecycle management.

  • Define architectural patterns, development standards, and governance principles for Workday Extend solutions within a global, multi country environment.

  • Ensure performance, scalability, and security compliance of custom Extend applications.

  • Lead the adoption of Workday Extend as a strategic capability, promoting best practices and preventing uncontrolled customizations.

  • Lead complex integration and automation projects using Workday Studio, EIB and APIs.

  • Define strategic priorities, allocate workload, and ensure delivery of global initiatives.

  • Design advanced reports and analytical dashboards.

  • Define and maintain global security frameworks and compliance controls.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Workday architecture and governance.

  • Partner with global HR, IT, and audit teams to deliver compliant and scalable solutions.

  • Support continuous improvement through documentation, training, and process standardization.

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in Workday environments (Integrations and Extend). (Required).

  • Strong technical knowledge of Workday Studio, REST/SOAP APIs, Extend, and security configuration. (Required)
     

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. (Required)
     

Languages

  • English (Required)

  • Spanish (Required)
     

Hard Skills

  • Hands on experience building Workday Extend applications, including:

    • Extend data models and custom objects design.

    • UI development using the Workday Extend framework.

    • Orchestrations and service integrations within Extend.

    • Performance optimization and governance of custom applications.

  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior consultants. (Preferred)

  • Experience defining governance models or transformation programs. (Preferred)

  • Understanding of risk management and regulatory frameworks. (Preferred)

  • Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills. (Preferred)

  • Experience defining an Extend application portfolio strategy, balancing configuration versus custom development. (Preferred)

  • Ability to assess when to use Workday configuration, Studio integrations, or Extend applications from an architectural perspective. (Preferred)
