At Cisco Meraki Wireless, we simplify and secure wireless enterprise connectivity across the world. We are the market leader, and we serve a wide range of customers which includes office building for largest companies in the world, hospitals, universities, schools, factories, mines, hotels, retail shops, stadiums, and large public venues.

Our wireless access point software team builds a wide range of Wi-Fi access points (AP) including the latest Wi-Fi 7 APs. Our software team covers platform bring up for everything from boot loaders to web servers on prototype hardware, kernel, driver integration, Wi-Fi features, wireless security, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) radio, and other advanced functionalities integrated into our product. Our teams also deliver data to cloud that enables Asset Location, Desk/Room Occupancy, Advanced Location, and Indoor Wayfinding. 

In this team, you will build, enhance and maintain full stack software for most advanced technologies for wireless infrastructure devices. You will also automate testing, qualify these platforms and validate use cases and end-to-end solutions. Your contributions will have direct impact into connectivity experience for critically important applications across the world.

What You'll Do

You are deeply motivated and technically skilled software development manager. Here is list of responsibilities you will have as part of this role:

  • Build, lead and manage a strong team of embedded software, on-prem, cloud and test engineers in our Bangalore office
  • Work closely with other cross functional team leaders in India and across the world to design a solution, implement it, and take it through qualification all the way to customer shipment and support
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to the team
  • Be able to write and/or review code and lead the team through design, architecture and implementation decisions.
  • Drive the development process from concept to production, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with geographically distributed teams to ensure program delivery and success
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.
  • Quality first mindset with metric driven approach

 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical eng., or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in full stack software development from Linux Kernel to cloud managed features. 
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and leading full stack software development teams with a mix of both on-prem and cloud software
  • Proven track record of successfully building and leading teams delivering complex embedded wireless products on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems design principles, including software architecture, real-time systems, and resource management.
  • Strong understanding of networking and wireless communication protocols and technologies (Wi-Fi)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in establishing and sustaining excellent relationships with extended teams.

Deep experience with any of the following: Linux Kernel, platform bring up, Bluetooth technology, location services, On-prem and cloud managed products

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.  Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
