The Administrator will support enterprise hardware (SAN), Windows server environments, and application software, with responsibilities including patching, backup validation, ACAS scans, and scripting automation to improve efficiency. This role requires hands-on experience with Windows system administration, Group Policy, and SQL server management in a mission-critical environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administration and support for Windows servers and applications
 - Perform hardware support, troubleshooting, and maintenance as needed
 - Apply and validate operating system and application patches in accordance with DoD STIG and hardening requirements
 - Conduct compliance assurance activities including STIG application, backup validation, and ACAS scans
 - Develop and maintain scripts to automate system administration and compliance tasks
 - Document technical work, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system
 - Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to maintain reliable operations within the lab environment
 
Required Skills/Experience
- Clearance Required: Top Secret
 - Minimum of three (3) years of related IT/server administration experience
 - DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant (minimum acceptable certifications include Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GSEC, or SSCP)
 - Proficiency with Windows Server administration
 - Hands-on experience with Windows scripting (PowerShell preferred)
 - Working knowledge of DoD IA practices, including STIGs, patching, backups, and ACAS scans
 - Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across technical teams and leadership
 
Desired Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
 - Broader exposure to automation and scripting beyond PowerShell
 - Experience supporting SQL or other enterprise applications in a Windows environment
 - Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
