  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, coach and evaluate trainers, wellness attendants, wellness coaches and assigned staff while building professional development and accountability.

  • Engagement and Conversion: Manage Jump Starts, referrals, consultations, conversions, renewals and retention through relationship-based, consultative service rather than high-pressure sales.
  • Financial Performance: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, staffing, pricing, revenue, expenses, margins and participation goals; identify gaps and implement corrective action.
  • Operational Excellence and Safety: Maintain a visible presence, monitor service quality and facility readiness, ensure accurate scheduling and documentation, and uphold YMCA safety, confidentiality, certification and abuse-prevention standards.
  • Collaboration and Community Impact: Partner with Membership, Group Exercise, Aquatics, Operations, Marketing, Physical Therapy and community organizations to deliver a connected, whole-person wellness experience.
  • Mission and Culture: Model Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; create an inclusive environment; support the Annual Campaign; and balance belonging, accountability and measurable results.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of consumers by maintaining professional boundaries, completing required abuse risk management training, following procedures for high-risk activities and supervision, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations, and adhering to mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a leader in branch fundraising activities for the Annual Support Campaign, including the solicitation of funds to support financial assistance, military family initiatives, community outreach, and branch goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Accountability
The Director maintains dashboards and monthly reporting for revenue, expenses, participation, sessions, Jump Starts, leads, conversion, retention, staffing utilization, member feedback and program outcomes. The role partners with the Association Executive Director, on strategy, budget planning, priorities, risks and corrective action. The Director works side by side with branch membership director and front desk/membership team as well as all other
directors at the specific branch.
