As a Web Engineering Manager at Droids On Roids, you'll blend two complementary roles: Technical Consultant and Team Manager.

In the architect role, you’ll be the principal technical voice in presales and early delivery phases - ensuring that projects are scalable, future-proof, and rooted in real business value. You’ll validate feasibility, guide key technology decisions, and support teams with the technical clarity they need to succeed.

In the managerial role, you’ll lead and grow our Web & Backend Developers by setting direction, driving performance, and coaching for growth. You’ll ensure the team is aligned, productive, and tightly connected with the wider Product, Delivery, Engineering and Client Services functions.

This is a high-impact role for someone who is technology-agnostic and passionate about building teams & products.

• Proven experience in technical leadership (Solution Architect, Lead Developer, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of web and backend architectures, preferably in large-scale Azure-based systems
• Comfortable working with multiple programming languages or stacks
• Hands-on experience building and shipping full-stack apps
• Track record of mentoring developers and building high-performing teams
• Great communicator and critical thinker: you ask smart questions, challenge assumptions, and can connect technical ideas with business needs.
• Experience working with large databases, integration-heavy platforms, and cloud-native solutions
• Familiarity with cost analysis, tool benchmarking, and engineering ROI
• Great communication skills – you can translate tech into plain language
• Fluent in English (at least C1)
  

• Experience in early-stage product design or product discovery
• Familiarity with DevOps, security, performance, and scalability best practices
• Passion for developer experience and tooling optimization
  

Technical Consultant:

• Looks after their immediate team and ensures that they have everything they need for their job / projects
• Works with other technical leaders in PL to build standards and consistent delivery frameworks
• Liaise with SLT on goals for the department including headcount and skills need
• Be comfortable talking to multi disciplined engineers at a high level across all the technologies we cover - the role is not to understand detail, it's to map out how things all intertwine
• Be a champion for maintaining quality and speed of delivery which has made our business so successful
• Use your people and technical skills to drive innovation in process and alignment to Apadmi group directives
• Stay up to date with both Apadmi and Industry best practice to support presales opportunities
• Work with client services on technical business reviews with our clients and identify growth opportunities where Apadmi services could be beneficial
