Gatorworks is seeking a web developer to join our team full-time to develop and maintain high-quality WordPress websites across a diverse client portfolio of industries. You will work closely with designers to translate their creative vision into functional and user-friendly online experiences.
Our digital marketing agency focuses on eliminating marketing frustrations for our clients. For many, that includes the ongoing management and hosting of websites, which capture potential leads. We deliver highly customized digital marketing strategies that produce results, and those campaigns start and end with websites we design and build in-house.
This position is ideal for applicants with at least 1-2 years of experience in website development with skills in WordPress. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are eager to contribute your skills to an established agency, we encourage you to apply!
Key Responsibilities:
- Website Development:
- Build custom WordPress websites using appropriately coded themes and custom plugins where necessary
- Develop and maintain WordPress websites according to design specifications and best practices.
- Implement responsive design principles to ensure websites are accessible across all devices.
- Utilize reputable third-party software to provide necessary functionality like custom fields, contact forms, and more.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing websites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly and efficiently.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
- Digital Marketing Support:
- Assist the digital marketing team with the implementation of tracking and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager).
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of website traffic and user behavior.
- Provide technical support for digital advertising campaigns.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and other team members.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Translate design concepts into functional and user-friendly interfaces.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript,
- Basic understanding of front-end toolkits / libraries
- Basic understanding of the WordPress platform and its core functionality
- Familiarity with design software such as Figma
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug code effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Ability to proactively manage multiple projects, anticipate potential challenges, and adapt to changing priorities
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
- Passion for web development and a desire to stay current with the latest technologies.

- Experience with advanced concepts of WordPress theme and plugin development
- Experience with version control systems and best-practices.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce or Shopify).
- Experience with website performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with website accessibility standards (WCAG).
