About the Opportunity:
Are you an experienced HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS Web Application Engineer? Join Life Fitness, the #1 brand of fitness equipment worldwide, as a Sr. Software Engineer, Web Applications. We create authentic exercise experiences for people through products that look good and perform brilliantly.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience writing, testing, documenting and maintaining CSS/HTML/JavaScript. You'll work closely with designers, UX and other developers to turn bleeding edge concepts into real-world applications, as well as plan and spec feature requirements, and the resources needed to make them a reality.
**This is a hybrid position based out of Franklin Park, IL - typically M/F remote and T-Th are in-office collaboration days** #LI-Hybrid)
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creation of all coded front-end deliverables (HTML/CSS and JavaScript).
- Help establish and enforce CSS/HTML style guides (best practices).
- Discover, master and share learnings on emerging technologies and techniques with the development team
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO OUR WINNING TEAM:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of responsive web development, fluid layouts and mobile device optimizations.
- Experience developing, documenting and maintaining web applications. • Experience working in technical team environments, specific to writing and maintaining CSS/HTML.
- Expertise creating modular, reusable and maintainable CSS/HTML for larger sites.
- Strong experience with integrating CSS/HTML into content management systems.
- Expertise developing and testing across multiple browsers, platforms, etc.
- Experience Optimizing front-end code for Search Engines.
- Holds a strong concern for accessibility and usability.
Technical skills
- Excellent skills in valid, standards-compliant HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Strong expertise with AngularJS and other JavaScript helpers/tools/frameworks.
- Strong expertise with CSS pre-processors.
- Strong expertise with the Git or Subversion version control system.
- Expertise with task runners and dependency managers (Gulp, Grunt, Bower).
- Must be comfortable with a command line.
- Knowledge of optimizing front-end performance, by coding practices and tools.
- 3rd-party API integrations.
