What you’ll do

  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with customers, agents, and distributors to position Weir as the supplier of choice for wear products including rubber sheet, ceramic wear panels, hoses, fabricated components, and moulded products.

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and coach a technically strong team, fostering their development and driving technical credibility to support sales outcomes.

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement growth strategies for the East region’s wear solutions business. Manage sales calls, tender applications, quotations, and order handovers.

  • Market & Product Development: Evaluate market conditions and customer needs to present competitive product applications and innovative solutions. Collaborate with product development and manufacturing teams to convey customer requirements and improve product offerings.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive efficiency in sales and tendering processes, manage product sales forecasts, and deliver on key financial, quality, safety, and customer service measures.

  • Travel Requirements: Approximately one week per month travelling across the eastern region, including clustered customer visits and occasional international travel.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

  • Extensive technical expertise in wear solutions within mining environments, including ceramics, rubber lining, poly products, wear panels, or material handling systems.

  • Genuine mining experience with understanding of concentrator shutdown cycles, maintenance planning, and operational execution on mine sites or as a vendor.

  • Proven technical leadership capability to coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical sales team.

  • Strong customer engagement skills with experience managing distributor and OEM relationships in mining or related industries.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in distributor/channel management supporting agents, applicators, resellers, and OEMs.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and SAP systems for sales and operational management.

  • Background in OEM manufacturing sales, including quality systems, warranties, and supply chain coordination.

  • Ability to manage diverse regional teams and navigate cross-functional internal stakeholder relationships.
