BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a manager for our prototype fabrication facility in Fridley, Minnesota, where we work on advanced weapon systems for the US military and international customers. As a Prototype Fabrication and Assembly Lead, you will directly and indirectly manage technicians, fabricators and engineers.
Within our prototype network, we secure our future through world-class integration, superior prototyping processes and innovative life-cycle support. The Prototype Fabrication and Assembly Lead:
- Oversees and manages the Prototype fabrication and assembly Operations project(s) primarily for our Weapon Systems product lines.
- Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and engineering management.
- Prepares project execution plans and identifies technical and business resources needed to support prototyping efforts.
- Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Provides technical and analytical guidance to project teams and the manager.
- Guides the onsite planning and execution capabilities for work and required fabrication and assembly equipment to accommodate business growth.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Operations Management, or Business Management and 8 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experienced in working in a prototyping environment
- Project / Program Management experience
- Risk and Issue management experience
- Effective communicator
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Prior experience establishing prototype pilot lines and track record of transitioning into production
- Lean Six Sigma experience, Green Belt or Black Belt
- Understanding of Manufacturing Process Failure Analysis
- Masters in Business Management or Management of Operations or equivalent Operations Management experience
- Prior Department of Defense experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
