At Just Right Reader, we work alongside schools and districts across the country to improve early literacy through decodable texts grounded in the Science of Reading. We create decodable books that are engaging and effective. Most importantly, kids actually enjoy reading them.
We’re hiring a Partnerships Lead in Washington or Oregon who understands how schools operate and how literacy decisions get made. If you've sat in those meetings, led those initiatives, or coached teachers through those shifts, you're who we're looking for. This is an opportunity to support other leaders in advancing reading outcomes at scale.
The Role: Partnerships DirectorAs a Partnerships Director, you’ll work directly with district and school leaders to understand their needs and bring them solutions that help students learn to read. You will also play a major role in growing our presence across your region by developing relationships, attending regional events, and building long-term partnerships.
What You'll Do:- Build strong, trusted relationships with school and district leaders
- Actively generate new opportunities by identifying leads, making outreach, and developing a robust pipeline
- Own the full sales cycle from first conversation through signed agreement
- Deeply understand local literacy priorities, funding sources, and district goals to position Just Right Reader as the right solution
- Represent Just Right Reader at regional conferences, events, and meetings with decision-makers
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff and successful long-term implementation
- Consistently meet or exceed your goals for district growth and product adoption
- At least 3 years of experience as a school or district leader (such as principal, assistant principal, curriculum director, or instructional coach)
- Strong understanding of foundational literacy and the science of reading
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a collaborative team
- Comfort with storytelling, strategy, and working with data to guide decisions
- A natural drive to sell – this can mean you’ve closed deals in education, pitched programs to your district, or even worked retail in college. You’re energized by the challenge of getting to “yes” and aren’t afraid to own a number
- Fully remote role, with occasional travel to schools, district offices, and conferences
