Our goal is to maximize airlines' operational efficiency by optimizing resource use, reduce costs and increase customer experience and satisfaction.

The VP Tech Enablement is a senior leader within Amach, accountable for defining and leading the organisation’s technical capability, standards, and presales support & direction. This role has primary responsibility for ensuring Amach’s technical capability is aligned to market demand—particularly within the airline sector—enabling scalable, high-quality delivery of cloud migration, optimisation, and modernisation programmes.

The VP Tech Enablement plays a critical role in supporting Sales and Delivery by shaping commercially viable solutions, strengthening technical credibility in client engagements, and ensuring consistent application of architecture, engineering standards, and delivery patterns across accounts. The role establishes the technical foundation that enables Amach to win and deliver large-scale, strategic transformation programmes while leveraging deep aviation domain expertise.

Required skills:

  • Direct experience working within or with airline organisations.
  • Strong understanding of airline systems, operational models, and industry constraints.
  • 12+ years in senior technology leadership roles, with deep experience in cloud, infrastructure, and platform engineering.
  • Strong architecture background across infrastructure, platforms, and application ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting presales and shaping technically and commercially viable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of delivery models, pricing structures, and margin considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at executive and client leadership level.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, multi-disciplinary technical teams.

Key responsibilities & duties include: 

1. Technical Capability & Standards Ownership

  • Own and lead all specialist technical domains (Cloud, Architecture, Security, Data, Networks, Automation, QA/Test, ITSM).
  • Ensure consistent application of technical standards across all engagements to maintain delivery quality and scalability.
  • Own technical escalation paths and provide senior-level technical oversight for complex delivery challenges.
  • Continuously evolve capability to align with market demand, emerging technologies, and client needs.

2. Presale & Commercial Contribution

  • Provide technical leadership across presales, bid responses, and client proposals.
  • Shape scalable and commercially viable solution architectures for cloud migration and modernisation programmes.
  • Validate delivery feasibility, technical risk, and resourcing models for all strategic opportunities.
  • Partner closely with VP Pre-Sales and VP Professional Services to ensure alignment between solution design, pricing, and delivery capability.
  • Contribute directly to improving win rates through strong technical positioning and credible solution narratives.

3. Airline Domain Leadership (Critical)

  • Apply deep aviation industry expertise to shape solution direction and delivery approaches.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor to airline clients, supporting executive-level discussions and engagements.
  • Ensure all solutions reflect real-world airline operational environments, constraints, and system landscapes.
  • Guide modernisation strategies aligned to airline operations, including core platforms, integration layers, and operational systems.
  • Leverage domain knowledge to differentiate Amach in the market and strengthen client trust.

4. Enable Delivery Excellence

  • Provide SMEs to support Delivery on complex and strategic programmes.
  • Ensure delivery teams have access to clear architectural guidance, patterns, and standards.
  • Reduce delivery risk through early technical engagement and structured solution validation.
  • Support VP Delivery in resolving technical escalations and ensuring programme success.
  • Drive consistency in technical execution across accounts.

5. Capability Development & Future Readiness

  • Identify emerging technology trends relevant to aviation and cloud transformation.
  • Define and own the technical maturity roadmap (tools, platforms, practices, certifications).
  • Align capability development with pipeline demand and growth strategy.
  • Support workforce planning with VP Professional Services to ensure capability readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical practices and delivery approaches.

5. Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Serve as a key member of the Amach Leadership Team, contributing to overall business strategy and growth planning.
  • Partner closely with VP Professional Services on capability demand, workforce readiness, and utilisation alignment.
  • Support VP Delivery on strategic engagements and programme execution.
  • Collaborate with Sales and VP Pre-Sales to align technical capability with market opportunities and account growth.
  • Role model Amach values and fosters a high-performance, accountable, and technically strong culture.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in consultancy, technology services, or managed delivery environments.
  • Exposure to AI, data platforms, and modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale cloud migration, optimisation, and modernisation programmes.

Succes Measures (First 12 Months)

  • Measurable improvement in presales win rates through stronger technical solutioning.
  • Clear technical capability roadmap defined and aligned to business growth strategy.
  • Strong client feedback on technical leadership and solution quality.
  • Increased contribution of technical leadership to account expansion opportunities.
  • Demonstrable alignment between capability supply and pipeline demand.
  • High-performing technical leadership team established with clear capability ownership.
