Job Description

Vice President, Scientific Strategy is a senior strategic leadership role within Klick’s Medical Communications team. This individual partners with Medical Affairs and Commercial Medical Communications clients to design, lead, and evolve scientific engagement strategies that drive meaningful stakeholder impact. Working closely with Client Services, Medical Strategy, Medical Writing, Activation Strategy, Technology, and Data & Analytics teams, this role develops innovative solutions, leads strategic engagements, and contributes to business growth across a diverse portfolio of life sciences clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead medical communications strategic and tactical planning across Medical Affairs and Commercial Medical Communications client engagements to drive measurable stakeholder engagement outcomes.
  • Design and facilitate strategic workshops, medical engagement planning initiatives, and scientific communications programs for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients.
  • Develop innovative medical communications frameworks, engagement models, and AI-enabled solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams across Medical, Technology, Strategy, and Analytics.
  • Build and maintain senior client relationships while providing strategic counsel that strengthens Klick’s position as a transformative medical communications partner.
  • Contribute to new business growth through proposal development, pitch leadership, thought leadership, medical content review, and mentorship of high-performing medical communications talent.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience within a medical communications, medical education, or healthcare communications agency supporting pharmaceutical or life sciences clients.
  • Demonstrated experience leading medical communications strategy, scientific engagement planning, and tactical execution across multiple therapeutic areas and client accounts.
  • Experience facilitating strategic workshops, medical planning sessions, or stakeholder engagement initiatives with senior Medical Affairs, Clinical, or Commercial leaders.
  • Track record of developing strategic recommendations, scientific communications plans, or engagement frameworks and presenting them to senior client stakeholders.
  • Advanced scientific degree or healthcare-related background with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex clinical and scientific information; PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including medical writers, strategists, client services, data and analytics, and technology partners to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Experience developing innovative medical engagement approaches, omnichannel medical communications programs, or digitally enabled scientific engagement strategies.
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches, proposal development, or agency growth initiatives resulting in expanded client partnerships.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or managing scientific strategy, medical communications, or multidisciplinary team members.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership through publications, presentations, conference participation, POV development, or industry-facing content.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in medical affairs, scientific communications, stakeholder engagement, and healthcare innovation.
