Job Summary
As a VP, Salesforce Engineer, you will own the design and delivery of complex, end-to-end solutions on the Salesforce platform - integration orchestration, compliance-grade workflows, and custom framework extensions within a large-scale enterprise org. You operate independently: given a problem, you determine the technical approach and present architectural trade-offs. You will work within a global engineering team, coordinating across time zones, driving technical decisions, and ensuring work holds up at a scale. This role demands deep expertise, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to lead through delivery in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Development: Design and build complex functionality using Apex, LWC, Flows, and process automation - balancing declarative and custom coding. Contribute to data model design and architecture decisions that support long-term scalability.
Integration Engineering: Develop and maintain integration using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Named Credentials, and External Objects.
Global Coordination: Collaborate daily with a distributed engineering team across multiple geographies. Communicate clearly on technical approach, dependencies, and delivery timelines. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies.
Code Quality & Platform Health: Write robust, well-tested code. Participate in peer code reviews. Develop with governor limits and org health in mind - optimized queries, bulkification, and appropriate async processing at scale.
Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis and debug complex problems across Apex, LWC, and integration layers with urgency and precision.
Mandatory Qualifications & Skills
Custom Framework Experience: Worked within a large, heavily customized Salesforce org, config-driven UI frameworks, custom LWC component libraries, metadata-driven layouts. Experience integrating third-party JS libraries inside LWC shadow DOM.
Advanced Apex & Async Processing: Triggers, batch, Queueable chains, future methods, platform events - all at scale with governor limits in mind. Built parallel callout orchestration to multiple external systems with partial failure handling.
LWC (Beyond Basics): Component composition, custom event architecture, imperative Apex, dynamic rendering, cross-component state management. Strong JS/HTML/CSS - can take a custom design and build it accurately in Lightning.
Multi-Pattern Integration: REST APIs, SOAP, Named Credentials, file ingestion, legacy adapters. Understands retry logic and contract-first design.
Data Modelling for Scale & Compliance: Complex parent-child hierarchies, Custom Metadata as config (not just settings), JSON serialization for data capture, SOQL optimized for volume. Have built systems where data correctness has regulatory consequences.
Engineering Fundamentals: Git workflows (branching, PRs, conflict resolution), IDE + SF CLI, SOLID principles, Agile with distributed teams. Communicates technical decisions clearly across time zones.
Good to have: working knowledge of TypeScript; experience with test automation; familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway); Financial Services exposure.
