Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Product Management Leader to join our dynamic team in New York City. In this role, you will work closely with the COO, CTO, customer team leaders, and other stakeholders throughout VERO to execute a bold vision that propels VERO to the forefront of the proptech industry. You will play a critical role in shaping our product strategy, ensuring that we not only innovate ahead of the competition but also deliver exceptional performance and value to our customers. Furthermore, you will be at the forefront of VERO’s efforts to expand its credit underwriting capabilities into other industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Drive the product strategy and roadmap in alignment with VERO’s business goals. Collaborate with the C-suite and other key stakeholders to ensure that our product vision is clearly defined, communicated, and executed.
• Customer-Centric Innovation: Partner with key customer team leaders to deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and opportunities for innovation. Translate these insights into actionable product features that deliver real value.
• Product Excellence: Ensure that all product releases meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Implement best practices in product management to continuously improve the development process and product outcomes.
• Technical Leadership: Leverage your technical skills to guide product development, particularly in areas such as APIs, integration with third-party systems, and scalable architecture. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that technical considerations are fully integrated into product planning and execution.
• API & Integration Expertise: Drive the development and optimization of APIs to ensure seamless integration with popular property management systems and other industry software. Foster strategic partnerships with key technology providers to enhance VERO’s product offerings.
• Industry Software Knowledge: Stay informed about industry-standard software, including property management systems, consumer underwriting platforms, and related technologies. Use this knowledge to identify integration opportunities and ensure VERO’s product remains compatible with the broader tech ecosystem.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to bring new products to market successfully. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across the organization.
• Competitive Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products. Use this knowledge to position VERO’s products as market leaders.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to product management team members, helping them grow their skills and careers within the organization.
• Market Expansion: Lead the product discovery efforts to extend VERO’s capabilities beyond the residential multifamily sector into adjacent markets, particularly in consumer underwriting.

Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Experience in consumer underwriting, proptech, or financial services is a strong plus.
• Continuous Discovery Skills: Ability to lead customer interviews to identify deeply impactful pain-points, needs and desires. Knowledge of solution ideation & prioritization techniques. Deep understanding of prototyping.
• Communications: Strong capability for structured communications both internally and externally.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Able to deeply understand needs & constraints of stakeholders throughout the organization. Willingness to collaborate with broader organizations to identify innovative solutions. Ability to drive outcomes with influence and not control over other individuals on the team.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of APIs, cloud services, and integration strategies. Experience with property management systems and other industry-relevant software is highly desirable.
• Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading product teams to deliver innovative products that achieve business goals. Experience in scaling products in a fast-paced startup environment is highly desirable.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Experience working closely with C-suite executives and driving strategic initiatives.
• Customer Focused: Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate them into successful product features. Experience working directly with customers to gather feedback and drive product improvements.
• Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of our technology and the ability to work closely with engineering teams to deliver technically sound products.
• Nice to Have: Experience with popular property management systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, Entrata), knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud), and familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Location: Must be based in New York City and available to work on-site several days a week.
