Product School is the global leader in Product Management training and certification.
The Role

VP, Operations

About Product School:

Product School is the global leader in product training, with a thriving community of over two million professionals. We offer live, online certifications taught by Product Leaders from top Silicon Valley companies like Google, Meta, Netflix, and Amazon.

In addition to certifications, we host ProductCon, the world’s largest product management conference, and produce The Product Podcast, a leading podcast for product professionals.

Founded in 2014, Product School was bootstrapped for the first 7 years before raising $25 million from Leeds Illuminate. We are proud to be a profitable, fast-growing company shaping the future of education.

The Role:

We are seeking a strategic VP, Operations to partner directly with the COO in driving alignment, accountability, and efficiency across the organization. In this high-impact role, you will oversee operations, acting as a trusted advisor to the COO and a collaborator with leadership across sales, marketing, and customer success. You will lead key meetings, hold teams accountable for achieving goals, and play a central role in preparing insights and content for board presentations. This role demands a balance of operational expertise, data-driven decision-making, and strong interpersonal communication skills.

What you'll do:

  • Leadership & Accountability:
    • Be the first point of contact for leaders needing non-critical support from the COO, and ensure COO's involvement in a project or decision-making is happening at the right moment and level by staying on top of information flow across the company.
    • Ensure strategic projects are completed on time and to the full scope of the work.
    • Serve as a key liaison between the COO and operational department leaders, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
  • Strategic Vision and Execution:
    • Understand the company's strategy and translate it into actionable plans.
    • Communicate complex ideas simply and inspire confidence.
  • Data-Driven Insights:
    • Develop insightful recommendations to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and enhance forecasting accuracy.
    • Create and maintain dashboards to track performance metrics and inform executive decisions, while delivering clear, actionable feedback to the COO.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Working closely with cross functional teams, ensure company operations occur seamlessly, with high quality and reliability.
    • Identify inefficiencies across operations and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance productivity.
    • Design and optimize processes, improve efficiency, and manage resources effectively.
  •  Executive Preparation:
    • Collaborate with the COO to prepare impactful board materials and executive presentations.
    • Present revenue performance, operational updates, and strategic recommendations in a clear and compelling manner.

This role could be a good fit for you if:

  • You have 7+ years of experience in operations, revenue operations, CoS, or a related role, ideally in high-growth environments.
  • You bring a strong understanding of end-to-end operational and revenue processes, including sales, marketing, and customer success.
  • You are highly skilled in data analysis, sales and reporting tools and driving insights that lead to decision making with a focus on measurable outcomes.
  • You thrive in roles that demand cross-functional collaboration, influence, and accountability at the executive level.
  • You possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, with extreme attention to detail, and the ability to lead projects from end-to-end.
  • You have strong people management and coaching skills, and have led cross-functional teams with influence, even without direct authority.
  • You are scrappy, a go-getter, and have a low ego. You thrive in ambiguity, and you roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get things done.
  • You are a quick thinker with a bias for action, and you are able to prioritize ruthlessly
  • Bonus points for experience with EOS and board preparation.

The perks:

  • Remote First - our team works remotely across multiple countries and time zones
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage in the US - support for additional coverage is available in Spain
  • Company Team Offsites and Coworking - we believe that remote-first doesn’t mean remote-only
  • Free Product School Course Offerings - we offer a range of courses and certifications worth $15,000 that we readily encourage our employees to explore
  • Monthly Internet Reimbursement - we support our team, wherever they’re working from
  • Parental leave

The compensation package offered for this position is between $200,000-$250,000. Please note this is a range and actual compensation may vary based on work experience and qualifications, performance, and other factors evaluated during the hiring process.

What We Do

Founded in Silicon Valley in 2014, Product School is the first technology business school.

We provide certified courses in Product Management and other digital skills to professionals across 16 campuses worldwide. We also offer the same courses live online. All our instructors are senior-level product managers working at top technology companies such as Google, Facebook, Airbnb, PayPal, LinkedIn, and Netflix.

Unlike traditional MBA programs designed for students seeking roles within the finance and consulting fields, Product School’s curriculum is highly relevant for the next generation of technology leaders, with classes offered at a fraction of the cost. The curriculum is designed to fit into work schedules with small classes held in the evenings or on weekends to ensure that both instructors and students can maintain their full-time jobs.

Students at Product School enjoy a healthy mix of hands-on projects, group activities, case studies, and panel discussions. Through this, they learn how to lead cross-functional teams, and experience building digital products from end to end. Students are also taught how to succeed in product management interviews and given access to our alumni community where they can expand their network, find mentors, and access job opportunities.

In addition to individual classes, Product School also delivers custom corporate training programs to Fortune 500 companies seeking to upskill their existing teams or onboard new talent.

Product School is committed to pushing the product community forward. With this aim in mind, we published the Amazon bestseller, The Product Book, organize meetups in over 150 cities worldwide, host the Product Awards, and run ProductCon, a multi-city conference attended by thousands of professionals every year.

Why Work With Us

We’re a huge, diverse and distributed family, passionate about our mission. Our team is the powerhouse behind building and shipping the most impactful product management content, tools, events and community. Product School is the place to be for anyone who is passionate about product and eager to make a difference in our industry.
