About Precision AI
Precision AI is on a mission to transform agriculture with cutting-edge drone technology. Our aerial spraying systems help farmers target weeds with surgical precision, reducing chemical use and increasing yields. We’re a fast-moving, impact-driven team looking for people who want to help build the future of farming.

Role Overview

The VP of Operations will lead the operating system that enables Precision AI to scale. The role will be about deciding what to refine versus what to rebuild as the staff and operations evolve. You will begin with 2 direct reports in Business and People Operations, needing to balance managerial responsibilities with being hands-on in the ownership of key projects.  As a key executive, you will improve execution, establish scalable operating rhythms, and ensure the company is prepared for its next stage of growth.

The VP will work closely with the CEO, Head of People, and other members of the leadership team to ensure priorities remain aligned across the organization. This person should be equally comfortable reviewing organizational structure, discussing fundraising strategy with investors, and being hands-on in removing operational bottlenecks that slow execution.

As Precision AI prepares for its next phase of growth and a future Series B financing, this role will play a critical part in evolving the operational foundation required to support a significantly larger organization.

This role is based in Calgary and will work from Precision AI’s headquarters 4+ days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations
  • Build scalable operating rhythms that improve execution and accountability.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve operational efficiency.
  • Build the systems and processes needed to scale the business.
  • Identify operational gaps and establish clear ownership across teams.

Corporate Operations & Risk
  • Oversee corporate insurance, procurement, and key vendor relationships.
  • Manage grant programs and government funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate patent and intellectual property administration with external partners.

People Operations
  • Partner with the Head of People on organizational design, hiring strategy, and compensation philosophy.
  • Support leadership development and workforce planning.
  • Help scale a high-performing, values-driven organization.

Executive Leadership
  • Partner closely with the CEO on company strategy and execution.
  • Drive alignment and accountability across the executive team.
  • Balance long-term planning with hands-on operational leadership.

Relevant Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership across Operations, Business Operations, or related functions.
  • Track record building operational systems, planning processes, and structure in high-growth tech organizations.
  • Proven success leading complex cross-functional initiatives and improving execution across organizations.
  • Experience partnering directly with CEOs and executive teams on company strategy and execution.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to simplify complex decisions and create clarity from ambiguity.
  • Ability to influence technical and non-technical teams while balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • High ownership, accountability, and follow-through.

Bonus
  • Previous experience as a founder or early executive at a venture-backed startup.
  • Experience managing grants, government funding programs, or corporate compliance.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and patent administration.
  • Experience in agriculture, agtech, robotics, machinery, or another relevant technical industry.

Not Sure You Meet Every Requirement?
Research shows that some candidates, especially women, underrepresented groups, and career changers, are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the listed qualifications. At Precision AI, we believe the right person can grow into the role, and we value potential as much as experience. If you’re excited about our mission and think you could contribute, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t check every single box.

Equal Employment Opportunity
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other status protected by law.
