Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Marketing to lead our talented marketing team and work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure our marketing efforts are data-driven and aligned with our overall business objectives. This role requires a strategic and bold thinker with a proven track record in digital marketing innovation, brand management performance marketing, and e-commerce.

As the Vice President of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that leverage digital marketing, personalization, customer insights, and the monetization of shopper data. Your primary goal will be to drive significant growth, enhance brand loyalty, and increase Allegro’s shoppers engagement. In addition to driving marketing innovation, you will oversee our public relations strategy and employer branding, managing our brand reputation and ensuring consistent and positive media coverage.

Your responsibilities will include harnessing customer insights to develop targeted marketing campaigns, utilizing shopper data to create personalized experiences and monetizing this data to generate additional revenue streams. Your leadership will be essential in guiding our marketing team to innovate and excel, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the e-commerce industry. This includes also managing and optimizing our public relations and employer branding efforts and collaborating with product development, sales, and customer service teams to ensure a unified approach to brand messaging and customer experience.

The role reports to Allegro’s Chief Marketing & Financial Services Officer with significant exposure to other Executive Team Members (esp. CTO, CFO, CCO, CHRO and CEO) and will look after team members located in Warsaw, Poznan, Prague and Ljubljana.

Key objectives and responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business goals and drive growth.

  • Lead the marketing team in the planning, execution, and optimization of marketing campaigns across all channels, including digital performance, social media, email, and traditional media.

  • Collaborate with the executive team to align marketing strategies with overall business objectives.

  1. Brand Management:

  • Oversee the development and execution of brand strategy to ensure consistent messaging and positioning.

  • Manage brand identity and maintain brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives and communications.

  1. Digital Marketing/Performance:

  • Lead digital marketing initiatives, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, content marketing, and online advertising.

  • Utilize data analytics to measure and optimize marketing performance, ensuring a high ROI on marketing spend.

  1. Market Research and Analysis:

  • Provide strategic guidance for market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.

  • Derive compelling insights from market data to inform marketing strategies and decision-making processes.

  1. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.

  1. Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.

  • Monitor marketing expenditures and optimize spend for maximum impact.

  1. Partnerships and Collaboration:

  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external vendors, agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commerce, SMART!Technology, to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.

  1. Develop and Implement PR Strategy(optional):

  • Design and execute a comprehensive PR strategy that aligns with the company’s overall marketing goals and objectives.

  • Ensure the strategy enhances the company’s brand image and strengthens its market position.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced executive with at least 15+ years of experience in managing marketing domain. The ideal candidate is a strong data-driven business builder, yet highly strategic/conceptual and structured with the ability to provide clear direction in highly ambiguous situations and a proven track record of driving change and business results. She/he needs to be very result-focused but at the same time highly collaborative and be comfortable working in a multinational matrix environment. Detailed requirements with regards to experiences and skills include:

  • 15+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally within or close to the e-commerce / online retail industry.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies, ideally in the e-commerce sector.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, tools, and best practices.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive marketing decisions.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and senior management (C-level & Board of Directors) and effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization,

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Creative and bold thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns.

  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and pay attention to detail.

  • Highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of e-commerce market dynamics.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • Excellent business writing skills.

  • Fluent English.
