About Marker Learning:

Marker Learning is on a mission to help schools and parents access more affordable and accessible learning disability (e.g., dyslexia) assessments. 1 in 5 students has a learning disability such as dyslexia, which makes it harder for them to read, spell, and write--despite their intelligence. While receiving a proper evaluation for a learning disability could be the most impactful event in a student’s life, it is estimated that only 4% of students receive a diagnosis because of the high costs of evaluations and lack of access to qualified psychologists. Undiagnosed students are 3x more likely to drop out of high school, 5x more likely to be unemployed, and tend to experience elevated levels of anxiety and depression.

By leveraging proprietary technology developed by leading experts, the end-to-end Marker evaluation is completed in a fraction of the time compared to traditional assessment methods. Marker is a rapidly growing start-up backed by some of the most mission-driven and reputable venture capital firms and education non-profits.
Join us in our mission to inspire and support all students on their unique learning paths!

Role Overview:

We are seeking a strategic VP of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts and drive growth. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy that effectively targets both individual school psychologists and broader district-level decision-makers. Your goal will be to create a seamless transition from initial product adoption by end users to enterprise-level sales, and vice versa. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in marketing within SaaS or similar business models. You should be well-versed in field marketing, Account-Based Marketing (ABM), content marketing, and demand generation, with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced startup environment. This role requires a balance of creativity and data-driven decision-making, with a focus on tying marketing initiatives to ROI.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with Marker Learning’s business objectives and growth goals
  • Refine the company’s brand positioning and messaging ensuring clear differentiation in the market, and one that resonates with target audiences, including, special education leaders, school and private psychologists, and other key stakeholders
  • Establish Marker as a thought leader in the space and develop a comprehensive content strategy that educates, engages, and nurtures prospects through the buyer’s journey.
  • Drive demand generation and lead acquisition to attract and engage target customers, generate qualified leads, and nurture them through the sales funnel utilizing an omni-channel marketing  approach.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies to target high-value accounts, tailoring campaigns to meet the specific needs of key decision-makers.
  • Plan and execute events (webinars, conferences, trade shows) that generate leads, build relationships, and enhance brand presence in the special education sector.
  • Own product marketing and collaborate closely with the product team to understand customer needs, develop compelling messaging and positioning, and launch new products successfully.
  • Create a robust marketing analytics framework to track campaign performance, user engagement, and conversion rates at both the individual and district levels.
  • Set clear KPIs for all marketing activities, with a strong focus on tying marketing efforts to measurable ROI and continuously optimize marketing strategies based on data insights and market feedback.

Who you are:

  • Advanced marketing experience, with a strong background in enterprise SaaS or similar business models.
  • At least 5+ years in a leadership or managerial specific role, with a strong willingness to roll up your sleeves and actively contribute to the work, not just oversee it.
