As the VP, MarTech Architect you will play a pivotal role in building and managing a best-in-class MarTech ecosystem that powers business growth, drives revenue optimization, and ensures every customer interaction is meaningful.
The VP, MarTech Architect is a hands-on, innovative leader responsible for driving the execution of enterprise marketing technology strategies, personalization initiatives, and cross-channel customer engagement programs. This role emphasizes creating an integrated marketing and personalization ecosystem, ensuring exceptional customer experiences across all touchpoints, and optimizing business outcomes through data-driven strategies.
This role combines MarTech product leadership, personalization oversight, and business architecture responsibilities to design, build, and enhance a sophisticated MarTech stack while aligning closely with business objectives. You will lead a team responsible for managing personalization, journey orchestration, cross-sell, referral programs, and enterprise MarTech platforms while ensuring alignment with broader business goals and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

MarTech Product Ownership & Architecture

  • Together with the FVP Head of MarTech, architect and lead the implementation of a Customer Data Platform (CDP) with an emphasis on data ingestion, identity resolution, segmentation, and activation, enabling advanced use cases for cross-sell, acquisition, retention, and hyper-personalization across channels.

  • Drive the implementation, optimization, and evolution of marketing technologies to support acquisition, engagement, retention, and cross-sell strategies
  • Act as the primary business and technical/ solution architect for marketing workflows and technology adoption, ensuring tools and systems support evolving business needs and user requirements
  • Translate business objectives into scalable technical requirements and detailed user stories, ensuring alignment with marketing and organizational goals
  • Partner with IT, analytics, and business teams to establish seamless data flows, integrations, and system architectures to power marketing strategies
  • Establish processes and frameworks to optimize system scalability, adaptability, and alignment with enterprise goals
  • Design and implement data governance policies and best practices for marketing systems and campaigns
  • Help drive the implementation of 1:1 personalization at scale using Salesforce Personalization and other journey orchestration tools, ensuring alignment with revenue/ business goals
  • Lead the development and execution of roadmap initiatives for personalization, cross-sell, and referral programs, aligning efforts across digital, email, web, and other channels

Performance Optimization and Analytics

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of MarTech platforms and personalization campaigns, providing actionable insights to improve efficiency, engagement, and revenue impact
  • Establish KPIs and success metrics for marketing and personalization initiatives, creating dashboards and reports that demonstrate ROI and optimization opportunities
  • Continuously analyze customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends to refine MarTech capabilities and strategies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with business leaders, product management, IT, and analytics teams to drive alignment and consensus on marketing strategies and technical requirements
  • Ensure collaboration across teams (e.g., Acquisition, Content, Creative, Analytics) to deliver unified marketing programs and exceptional customer experiences
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the MarTech and personalization teams

Innovation and AI Enablement

  • Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance marketing efficiency, personalization, and decision-making across all business units
  • Foster a culture of innovation, identifying and implementing emerging MarTech trends and solutions to keep Axos at the forefront of marketing technology advancements
  • Partner with business units to mature their integration into the MarTech ecosystem, ensuring all teams are leveraging the platform's full capabilities for campaign execution, personalization, and analytics
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to standardize and unify marketing processes across business units, enabling seamless collaboration and consistent use of MarTech platforms

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in MarTech product management, with deep expertise in marketing technologies, including CRM, Marketing Automation, Personalization, and Analytics platforms
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) in enterprise or agency environments, with a strong foundation in MarTech data architecture, identity stitching, audience strategy, and technical integration. Experience with tools such as (but not limited to) Salesforce Data Cloud and Tealium are a bonus.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and managing Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Engagement, Personalization, and Intelligence)
  • 5+ years of experience developing technical requirements, workflows, and data architectures for marketing systems
  • 4+ years of experience in personalization and journey orchestration platforms, with proven success in executing cross-sell, upsell, and referral strategies
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing AI and machine learning tools for campaign experimentation, segmentation, and optimization
  • Demonstrated expertise in business architecture, including workflow design, process mapping, and system integration for marketing platforms
  • Proficiency in SQL, Tableau Cloud, and other dashboard/reporting technologies
  • Experience with web analytics and tag management platforms (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Tealium)
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance best practices in marketing
  • Certifications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or related platforms are a plus
