If you want to help shape the future of democracy, we’d love to meet you!
Change.org is building a new civic technology platform with the mission of building less polarized and more effective democracies resilient to the growing impact of AI. We are searching for a Founding Head of Product who will translate an ambitious vision for better democracies into a product that can drive mass public adoption and effective policy outcomes at global scale.
This new platform leverages AI (LLMs, bridging algorithms, and world modeling) and millions of human voices to identify the >80% of issues most people agree on locally and nationally, and will mobilize millions of voters to incentivize elected officials to support those common-ground policies. We're already partnering with Republican and Democratic mayors across the US to pilot this new platform locally, and we’ll announce a “National Citizen’s Congress” later this year - a live video-based civic dialogue with representative groups of Americans from every Congressional district on the most important national issue each week to identify cross-partisan solutions. We’ll then expand to the other major democracies globally in which Change.org already has hundreds of millions of users.
We’re looking for a world-class product leader who can translate a complex, multi-stakeholder civic problem into a product people actually want to use. You have experience building 0 to 1 consumer internet products as well as deploying at scale to millions of users. You understand and embrace AI as a means to create better experiences and to unlock functionality and scale that was previously impossible. You build in an AI-first way yourself, using AI to move faster, think more clearly, and multiply your own impact. Most critically, you want to be part of a pragmatic and ambitious team made up of some of the best builders in the world operating with urgency to solve one of the most important problems of our time: building healthier democracies.
Compensation: The annual salary is $330,000 USD + 20% target bonus ($396,000 total cash).

What We Do
Change.org is the world’s largest tech platform for people-powered, social change. More than half a billion people across more than 196 countries use our technology-driven petition and campaign tools to speak up on issues they’re passionate about. Approximately 70,000 petitions are created and supported on our platform every month, with 1.7 million new people joining our global network of users every week. People on Change.org have powered tens of thousands of campaign victories worldwide, and more are winning every week. Every day, our users collaborate to organize on local, national and global issues; hold corporations to account; and demand action from decision makers at the highest levels of government and business. Our platform is free to use, open to all, and completely independent because it’s funded by the people who use it. Our independence makes us a trusted resource for decision makers, who turn to the platform to hear from and respond to the communities they represent. The nonprofit Change.org Foundation oversees both the Change.org Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), a wholly owned corporate subsidiary focused on technology, innovation and growth; and the Change.org charitable programs focused on empowering the most marginalized people and communities globally. This hybrid structure of two mutually supporting organizations enables us to combine the ambition and growth trajectory of a tech company with the mission-focused stewardship of a nonprofit. As an organization, Change.org is committed to providing the tools, resources and support needed to empower anyone, anywhere to create the change they want to see. We love serving our incredible users, and we love our staff too. We show it with competitive salaries, unlimited vacation, 18 weeks of parental leave, and a high impact, low-ego team that can’t wait to learn from you and teach you what they know.
