We utilize a cutting-edge tech stack that adapts to our evolving needs: Kubernetes, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, GCP, AWS, and more. Our agile architecture is built on microservices and asynchronous APIs, supporting both web and mobile platforms powered by React, Swift, and Java/Kotlin.
Your Role
As the VP of Engineering, you will:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the engineering vision and strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Team Building: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and innovation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and clinical teams to define engineering requirements that support product and business objectives.
- Best Practices: Establish and uphold engineering best practices, processes, and metrics to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation, budget management, and scaling strategies to meet the demands of fast-paced product development.
- Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors, and provide guidance on technology direction and investments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with executive leadership, customers, and partners to communicate technical concepts and foster strategic partnerships.
What You Need to Succeed
- Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles overseeing engineering teams.
- Proven track record of scaling engineering teams on start-ups growing from a valuation of 10M to 1B.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, with familiarity in modern tech stacks (optional)
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a focus on team development, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud-based architectures and microservices.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including agile processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an innovative mindset to drive technology solutions.
- Experience in the healthcare or biotech industry is a plus but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages (Spanish preferred) is a plus.
