Team: Co-founders (Wiley, Matt, Kenny) and the rest of our team have spent our careers building world-class tech companies that transform local businesses by digitizing their consumer experience(s). We are an experienced executive team that have been founders or exec team members at the following companies, each with successful outcomes: Seamless ($GRUB), Slice ($1B+ pre-IPO), OLO ($OLO), SinglePlatform ($TRIP), Constant Contact ($CTCT), and Good Uncle ($ARMK).

The Job: As the Vice President of Engineering, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our digital platform. 

Reporting directly to our co-founder/COO, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our technology to support our expanding partner base, ensuring the seamless integration of operational CRMs, and driving the growth and effective management of our engineering team through strategic hiring initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate closely with the executive team, product management, and design to shape the technical roadmap and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a growing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Make strategic decisions to drive the development of scalable and reliable systems, ensuring exceptional outcomes and immediate customer value.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of features, from ideation to production, leveraging your experience in successfully shipping products.
  • Take a proactive approach to attract top engineering talent. Contribute to the recruitment and hiring process to build a high-performing team.
  • Define and monitor key performance metrics for the engineering team. Implement measures to improve efficiency, productivity, and product quality.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with a proven track record of leadership and successfully scaling engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical strategy with business objectives and drive product delivery.
  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and team development.
  • Deep understanding of software development best practices, agile methodologies, and emerging technologies.
  • Comfortable with a diverse range of technologies; experience with Rails, Stimulus, Turbo, PostgreSQL, and other relevant technologies is a plus

  • Occasional travel requirements (approximately 10% of the time) to attend offsites, meetings, or training events

The salary range for this role is $250,000-$310,000. This posting may span more than one career level. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
