Purpose:
The Vice President - Education will serve as department leader for all Education activities by providing vision, executive-level leadership, strategic planning, oversight, and coordination of all Education programs. A strong VP- Education will have past success in demonstrating the value and impact of education investment in a way that is compelling and inspires confidence and engagement from current and new partners. They will have demonstrated success in effectively leading teams to achieving goals. They will have strong computer proficiency skills, especially word processing software, presentation development, and spreadsheet software. A successful VP- Education will have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, the ability to respond promptly and effectively to complaints from subscribers, ticket holders, arts partner organizations, and licensees as well as lead departmental budgeting and financial planning processes all while maintaining standards of professionalism for the organization in the areas of confidentiality, teamwork, timely and effective communications, enforcement of company policies, and standards of customer service.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a member of Dayton Live’s Senior Staff
- Helping shape the overall culture, direction and mission of Dayton Live
- Serve as an organizational representative on local, regional and national boards and committees
- Develop event-related content including written copy, video production, and educational materials in support of organizational events
- Collaboration with other departments and foster cross-departmental coordination
- Attending and contributing to senior staff meetings
Serve as the Education Department lead including:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Education Department, ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and alignment with organizational priorities
- Short and long-range planning for departmental projects, goals and programs
- Budget creation and overall management of department, programs and other initiatives.
- Supervising and training department staff
Serve as producer for a variety of Dayton Live events including events in the PNC Arts Annex and other facilities
- Contributing to the programming of the Discovery Series, as well as Family programming in collaboration and consultation with the Programming Department
- Contribute to grant management including contributing to applications, compliance and reporting.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree- preferably in Education, Arts Administration, or Theatre
- Masters degree in a relevant arts or business field-preferred
- Minimum of eight years’ non-profit arts management experience, including budget development and the leadership of senior staff.

Dayton Live (formerly Victoria Theatre Association) is a non-profit arts organization and the region's home for arts, culture, and entertainment. Its mission is to strengthen community engagement in the arts through inspiring performances, educational opportunities, and world-class venues. The organization operates several facilities, including the Victoria Theatre and the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, hosting over 300 performances annually.
