Job Description

The role of the Community Investment and Engagement (CIE) team is to engage employees across the company as they connect with Fannie Mae’s mission through corporate citizenship initiatives, including volunteerism and giving.

As a valued colleague on our team, you will report to the Director of Community Investment and Engagement and help advance Fannie Mae’s corporate citizenship efforts by leading the company’s matching gifts program and co-leading enterprise volunteer initiatives. In this role, you will drive employee giving and volunteer engagement, strengthen nonprofit partnerships, and support community causes aligned with Fannie Mae’s mission.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Volunteerism and Giving - Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

Corporate Giving and Matching Gifts

  • Serve as the matching gifts program lead, overseeing platform administration, vendor management, employee support, and continuous improvement of the giving experience while driving growth in employee participation and utilization.

  • Establish and track key performance metrics, develop reports and dashboards, and provide actionable insights to strengthen program effectiveness, expand nonprofit engagement, and demonstrate measurable impact.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to promote charitable giving, ensure policy compliance, cultivate relationships with nonprofit partners, and communicate program outcomes through targeted employee and organizational storytelling.

Volunteer Project Management

  • Co-lead team-building volunteer initiatives by consulting with leaders and stakeholders to design impactful, employee-focused engagement opportunities aligned with business goals.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on volunteerism and matching gifts, providing training, strategic guidance, and customer-centric solutions to enhance participation and outcomes.

  • Foster strong partnerships across the organization and with external vendors, ensuring effective program delivery, compliance with contractual requirements, and timely problem resolution.

  • Lead the planning and execution of enterprise-wide volunteer initiatives, collaborating with nonprofit partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality volunteer experiences that advance employee engagement and community impact.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences

  • 2 years related experience.

  • Prior experience administering matching gifts programs or managing volunteerism.

  • Ability to analyze data and trends to inform decision-making. 

  • Experience partnering with nonprofit organizations and/or engaging employee volunteers in meaningful experiences.  

  • Proven ability to manage multiple, time sensitive projects and balance competing priorities.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and set priorities in a dynamic environment. 

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to follow through to achieve deliverables. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members, Fannie Mae employees and leaders, and third-party vendor representatives.

  • Possess strong sense of integrity and exhibits ethical conduct.

  • Possesses cultural competency and a sensitivity to other viewpoints.

  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Prior experience using a matching gifts platform such as America’s Charities, Benevity, CyberGrants, etc.

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
