We are looking for a Voice & DevOps Engineer to join our start-up and provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers. This role is ideal for candidates with 3–5 years of experience in configuring VoIP software or PBX telephony applications and a strong background in voice systems and SIP infrastructure.

About the Role
You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining ZIWO’s voice infrastructure. This includes implementing SIP trunking, configuring PBX systems, optimizing voice traffic, and ensuring high call quality and system reliability. You will work closely with the telecom, infrastructure, and engineering teams to scale our voice capabilities globally.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain voice infrastructure based on engineering and business needs.
- Deploy, configure, and manage VoIP, SIP, PBX, and unified communications platforms.
- Implement SIP trunking, call routing, and session border controllers (SBCs).
- Optimize voice traffic through QoS, redundancy, and security protocols.
- Integrate voice systems with core network infrastructure and third-party applications.
- Migrate legacy systems (analog/PRI) to modern IP-based voice platforms.
- Monitor and troubleshoot voice quality issues using tools like Wireshark and SolarWinds.
- Ensure high availability of voice services through failover design and backup call routing plans.
- Liaise with SIP providers, telecom carriers, and vendors to maintain uptime and resolve outages.
- Participate in on-call schedules for handling voice-related incidents outside business hours.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with VoIP or PBX telephony systems.
- Proficiency in both French and English is required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Mandatory Technical Skills (Voice-Focused)
- VoIP Platforms: FreeSwitch, Asterisk, Kamailio (must have hands-on experience)
- Protocols: Deep understanding of SIP, RTP, SBC configuration
- Diagnostic Tools: Wireshark, SolarWinds, or equivalent
- Voice Routing & Monitoring: Experience with SIP trunking, call routing, QoS, failover systems
- Networking: VLANs, VPNs, Load Balancing, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, SD-WAN
Preferred Technical Skills (DevOps & Infrastructure)
- Operating Systems: Linux (Ubuntu)
- Configuration Management: Ansible
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- Cloud Providers: AWS, Oracle Cloud (OCI)
- Version Control: Git & Git Flows
- Scripting Languages: Python, Go
