We're looking for a Vision Engineer to join our Engineering team and play a key role in the preparation, deployment, and operation of our outside broadcast trucks and flypack systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in outside broadcast, live production, or broadcast facilities who is looking to broaden their technical expertise, work on high-profile productions, and develop towards a future Guarantee-level role.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved in every stage of the broadcast lifecycle, from technical preparation and system testing through to live event delivery.

Working alongside some of the industry's most experienced engineers, you'll help ensure our vision systems perform flawlessly in demanding live environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, configuring, and testing vision systems for outside broadcasts and live events.
  • Supporting camera systems, CCUs, vision mixers, routers, multiviewers, monitoring, and signal distribution infrastructure.
  • Assisting with the deployment and operation of both traditional SDI and modern IP-based production systems.
  • Supporting engineering teams during live productions, helping to diagnose and resolve technical issues when they arise.
  • Contributing to system upgrades, technical improvements, and fleet development projects.
  • Maintaining accurate engineering records and technical documentation.
  • Collaborating with production teams, operators, and fellow engineers to deliver exceptional client experiences.
Technology You'll Work With

Our facilities continue to evolve as the industry moves towards IP and software-defined workflows. Depending on your experience, you'll have opportunities to work with:

  • SMPTE ST 2110 and IP-based production environments
  • Broadcast networking, multicast, and PTP timing systems
  • Vision mixers, routing systems, multiviewers, and monitoring platforms
  • Camera systems and CCU infrastructure
  • Broadcast control and orchestration platforms
  • Industry-leading technologies from manufacturers including Sony, Grass Valley, EVS, Lawo, Evertz, Riedel, and others
What We're Looking For

You may already be working as a Technical Assistant, Multi-Skilled Operator or Trainee Engineer, or in a similar technical role within outside broadcast, live events, or broadcast facilities.

We're particularly interested in people who:

  • Have a solid understanding of vision systems and signal flow.

Skills Required

  • Experience supporting live broadcast or live production environments
  • Solid understanding of vision systems and signal flow
  • Experience with camera systems and Camera Control Units (CCUs)
  • Experience with vision mixers, routing systems, multiviewers, and monitoring platforms
  • Familiarity with SDI and IP-based production systems (including SMPTE ST 2110), broadcast networking, multicast, and PTP timing
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure (fault-finding)
  • Ability to maintain accurate engineering records and technical documentation; strong teamwork and communication skills
