The Role
We're looking for a Video Editor to own Eight Sleep's athlete storytelling end to end, from finding the story inside the footage to delivering the final cut. You'll work across everything from reactive same-day social to cinematic athlete films.
Some of the world's best athletes sleep on Eight Sleep: Formula 1 pilots, Tour de France cyclists, Ironman champions, Ballerinas, Roland Garros finalists. We have access to these people, their environments, and their stories in ways most brands never will.
The challenge, and the opportunity, is knowing what to do with that access.
This role exists for someone who watches hours of athlete rushes and sees a story nobody else noticed. Who walks into a training session and immediately knows the three shots that will make the edit. Who can turn raw, unplanned footage into something people stop scrolling for, and then turn around and make something considered and cinematic for the same subject matter.
Role Requirements
Concept & Art Direction
Develop content concepts for sports and athlete storytelling across formats : from short-form social to longer editorial pieces
Identify the story within existing footage : rushes, BTS material, event coverage, athlete access, and shape it into something worth watching
Contribute to pre-production planning when shoots are happening: propose shots, sequences, formats, and creative approaches before the camera rolls
Think natively across formats and lengths : a 15-second Instagram cut and a 3-minute cinematic piece are different disciplines; you're fluent in both
Understands how to work within the world of YouTube
Editing & Post-Production
Edit video content across the full spectrum of Eight Sleep's global output : social content, athlete films, partnership activations, event coverage
Work across DaVinci or Premiere Pro and After Effects with genuine proficiency
Handle colour, sound, and motion with enough craft knowledge to make independent decisions at the edit stage
Deliver to platform-specific requirements without losing creative intent in the process
Production Versatility
Comfortable working with any type of footage : iPhone on a race day, RED or ARRI on a Dreams shoot, GoPro on a Tour de France stage
Able to operate across the full production spectrum: fast, reactive, run-and-gun shooting alongside high-end planned productions
Understand the relationship between what gets captured on the day and what becomes possible in the edit, and make smart decisions accordingly
Qualities & Characteristics
Three to five years of experience in sports, brand, or editorial video content, with a portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and editing craft in equal measure
A reel that shows range: social-native content and longer-form storytelling, reactive shooting and planned production, fast turnarounds and considered finishes
Genuinely sports-literate : you follow the races, the athletes, the moments. You understand what makes a sports story resonate because you care about the sport itself, not just the aesthetic
Video-first in how you think : you instinctively frame ideas as moving image, not stills or copy
Socially fluent without being socially limited : you know what performs on platform, but you don't let that become a ceiling on your creative ambition
Fast without being careless. You can turn a same-day edit when the moment calls for it, and slow down for craft when the project deserves it
Autonomous and self-directed : able to take a brief, disappear into the footage, and come back with something nobody asked for but everyone needed
Based in Milan or genuinely open to it; comfortable travelling to races, shoots, and events across Europe

Skills Required
- Three to five years of experience in sports, brand, or editorial video content
- Proficiency with DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
- Portfolio/reel showing range: social-native content and longer-form storytelling, reactive and planned production
- Sports literacy and interest in following races and athletes
- Ability to identify story within rushes and shape footage into compelling edits
- Experience handling colour, sound, and motion; making independent craft decisions in edit
- Comfortable working with varied camera formats (iPhone, GoPro, RED, ARRI) and production contexts
- Comfortable producing fast same-day reactive edits and slower, cinematic projects
- Based in Milan or genuinely open to relocating; comfortable travelling to races and shoots across Europe
What We Do
Eight Sleep is building a predictive health platform powered by sleep, now used by 200k+ members nightly across 30+ countries. Our products combine hardware, software, AI, and biometric sensing to turn the bed into an always-on system that can measure physiology, regulate temperature in real time, and adapt throughout the night to improve sleep, recovery, and long-term health. The impact is already measurable. In studies, the Pod has improved sleep quality by up to 32%, helped users fall asleep up to 44% faster, reduced nighttime disturbances by 23%, improved cardiovascular recovery markers like heart rate variability and resting heart rate, and increased cognitive performance, including a 9% improvement in processing speed. More recent research also found a 56% average reduction in nighttime hot flashes among peri- and post-menopausal women. Even after becoming profitable in 2025, we're still early.
