Position Overview

We are seeking a highly-skilled Video Editor (Contractor) to join our network of creative contractors. As a contractor, you will be responsible for translating raw footage into high-impact, polished video assets that align with our clients' brand strategies. We are looking for a professional who possesses a "director’s eye" for storytelling and the technical mastery to execute projects independently from kickoff to final delivery.


This is a project-based contractor role. You will be expected to have access to and manage your own workload and editing software, delivering high-quality videos that meet specific technical requirements.


Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Post-Production: Take complete ownership of the editing process, including media organization, ingestion, assembly, color grading, and sound mixing.
  • Storytelling & Narrative: Splice raw footage from various sources to create cohesive, engaging stories that align with the project brief's narrative agenda.
  • Motion Graphics & Finishing: Create and integrate static and motion graphics, titling, and transitions to elevate the production value. Static assets and designs will always be provided by graphic designers on Figma.
  • Multi-Platform Optimization: Deliver final renders tailored to specific platforms (e.g., 9:16 for TikTok/Reels, 16:9 for YouTube, GIFs, and short-form teasers), ensuring all specs meet platform-specific best practices.
  • Asset Management: Independently source high-quality stock footage, music, and SFX that align with the creative direction of the video.
  • Quality Control: Perform rigorous quality control on all deliverables to ensure they are free of technical errors and align perfectly with brand guidelines before submission.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Manage all software, hardware, and export configurations necessary to meet delivery deadlines. By standard, we usually work with After Effects and Adobe Premiere and you are required to have your own subscription of this software.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of video editing experience
  • A robust portfolio, reel, and/or sample work demonstrating high-level storytelling, pacing, and technical proficiency across various industries. SaaS (Software as a Service) and B2B (Business-to-Business) experience is preferred.
  • Expert-level command of Adobe Premiere Pro. Proficiency in Adobe Audition, Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator for asset preparation is required.
  • Experience editing audio, music, and incorporating sound effects
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill in motion graphics in After Effects (keyframing, typography, and 2D visual effects), and knowledge and experience in understanding motion design concepting and storyboarding are essential for this role
  • An understanding of video ad placement across marketing channels
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good time-management skills
  • Willing to take and provide feedback like a champ!
  • Experience within an agency, in-house agency, or post-production studio is a plus
  • At least 3-5+ years of experience in an agency or post-production house environment, managing multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Ability to process creative briefs and feedback "like a pro," implementing revisions quickly and accurately with minimal back-and-forth. Depending on the complexity of the revision requests, the expected turnaround time is usually 2 working days or less.


Availability & Logistics
  • Immediate Start: We are looking for a contractor who has the availability to begin project work immediately.
  • Project Availability : Availability to scale hours up or down based on project volume.
  • Equipment: Must possess a high-end editing workstation capable of handling 4K footage and complex renders, along with a reliable, high-speed internet connection for large file transfers.

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of video editing experience
  • Expert-level command of Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency in Adobe Audition, Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in motion graphics in After Effects
  • Experience in agency or post-production studio environment
