The Systems Engineering Executive Leader is responsible for defining and driving the systems engineering strategy across the company's portfolio of consumer products. This executive serves as the technical integrator between product development, hardware engineering, software engineering, R&D, product management, design, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure the delivery of innovative, high-quality, and reliable consumer appliances.
This leader establishes the frameworks, processes, tools, and organizational capabilities required to manage increasingly complex, connected, and software-enabled products. The role ensures that customer requirements are translated into robust system architectures, technical requirements, verification plans, and product performance outcomes while accelerating innovation and reducing development risk.
As a key member of the Engineering Leadership Team, the Systems Engineering Executive Leader will champion model-based systems engineering, requirements management, systems architecture, product validation, reliability engineering, and cross-functional technical governance throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Engineering Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company's systems engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global systems engineering organization.
  • Establish systems engineering standards, methodologies, tools, and best practices across all product categories.
  • Drive organizational maturity in systems thinking, architecture development, requirements management, and technical decision-making.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority for complex cross-functional product development programs.

Product Architecture & Technical Leadership
  • Lead development of product system architectures for current and future appliance platforms.
  • Ensure alignment between customer needs, business objectives, technical requirements, and product performance targets.
  • Drive platform strategies that enable scalability, reuse, and technology leverage across product families.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their impact on future product roadmaps.
  • Guide critical design trade-offs involving performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability, and user experience.

Requirements & Systems Integration
  • Establish robust processes for capturing, decomposing, and managing product requirements.
  • Ensure end-to-end traceability from customer needs through design verification and validation.
  • Lead integration efforts across mechanical, electrical, embedded software, firmware, cloud, connectivity, AI, and user experience domains.
  • Resolve complex cross-functional technical issues and integration challenges.

Verification, Validation & Reliability
  • Oversee system-level verification and validation strategies.
  • Ensure products meet functional, performance, regulatory, safety, reliability, and customer experience requirements.
  • Partner with Quality and Reliability teams to improve product robustness and reduce field failures.
  • Establish metrics and governance processes to monitor product performance and technical risk.

Product Development Governance
  • Implement technical review processes and engineering gate criteria.
  • Lead technical risk management and mitigation activities across product portfolios.
  • Establish system-level KPIs and engineering performance metrics.
  • Ensure consistent engineering execution across multiple development programs and global teams.

Organizational Development
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor world-class systems engineering talent.
  • Build organizational capabilities in architecture, modeling, simulation, requirements management, and systems integration.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to strengthen technical career paths and succession planning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Influence strategic product decisions through technical insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to executive leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Represent systems engineering in executive reviews, strategic planning activities, and customer engagements.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Advanced technical or business degree (MBA, PhD) is a plus.

Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience.
  • 10+ years leading complex multidisciplinary product development programs.
  • Significant experience in consumer products, consumer electronics, home appliances, robotics, connected devices, or related industries.
  • Proven experience leading large technical organizations and managing senior engineering leaders.
  • Demonstrated success delivering products from concept through commercialization.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

$265,000-$325,000 USD
