Connected Manufacturing is hiring a hands-on revenue leader to build and scale our commercial engine as we enter our next phase of growth.
We are a $5.5M digital manufacturing and consulting firm working with mid-market and enterprise manufacturers to deliver PLM, MES/MOM, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 transformation programs.
Why This Role Exists
We have strong delivery capability and established client relationships—but we have not yet built a predictable, scalable revenue engine.  This role exists to change that.
The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for:
  • Building pipeline from the ground up
  • Personally leading and closing enterprise deals
  • Establishing a repeatable go-to-market motion
  • Scaling the revenue function over time
  • This is a player-coach role. You will both sell and build.
What You’ll Do
  • Personally drive new business development and close enterprise deals ($250K–$1M+)
  • Build and manage a $15M–$20M+ pipeline
  • Develop and refine go-to-market strategy for manufacturing clients
  • Establish a repeatable sales motion and forecasting discipline
  • Leverage industry relationships, partners, and networks to generate demand
  • Align closely with delivery to ensure successful execution and margin discipline
  • Build and lead the future sales organization
  • What Success Looks Like
  • First 12 Months:
  • Build $20M+ qualified pipeline
  • Close $3M–$4M in new and expansion revenue
  • Establish a repeatable enterprise sales motion
  • Lay the foundation for a scalable sales organization
Who This Role Is For
  • You have personally closed $2M–$5M+ annually in complex enterprise deals
  • You have experience in manufacturing technology, industrial software, or consulting
  • You are comfortable selling into COO, VP Operations, Engineering, and IT stakeholders
  • You thrive in building from scratch—not just managing an existing team
  • You are equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the deal room
This Role Is Not For:
  • Leaders who primarily manage teams but do not sell
  • Candidates who rely on large existing pipelines or SDR organizations
  • Executives seeking a purely strategic or oversight role
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $160K–$190K
  • Target OTE: $250K–$300K
  • Significant upside through performance accelerators
  • Equity or long-term incentives available for the right candidate
  • Compensation for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, executive experience, demonstrated track record, and relevant industry expertise, while also taking into consideration current market compensation data and geographic location.

Fully Remote (U.S. East Coast, UK, or Ireland preferred)

Skills Required

  • Proven track record personally closing $2M-$5M+ annually in complex enterprise deals
  • Experience selling manufacturing technology, industrial software, or consulting services (PLM, MES/MOM, IIoT, Industry 4.0)
  • Ability to sell into COO, VP Operations, Engineering, and IT stakeholders
  • Experience building pipeline from scratch and closing enterprise deals ($250K-$1M+ deal size)
  • Experience establishing repeatable go-to-market motions, forecasting discipline, and sales processes
  • Player-coach experience: selling while building and scaling a sales organization
  • Comfort working closely with executive leadership and aligning sales with delivery and margin discipline
