Job Summary:
The Vice President of Sales will provide strategic leadership and direction for the DQE Communications sales organization, overseeing enterprise sales for our core and expansion markets, which includes agent and direct sales. This role is responsible for setting the overall sales vision, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building strong customer and partner relationships within the telecommunications industry. The VP of Sales will lead and mentor sales managers and their teams, ensuring alignment with company goals, while fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration. Must be local to the Pittsburgh area. Hybrid work environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth across mid-market, major accounts, and the agent channel.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage sales managers, providing coaching and performance management to ensure team success.
  • Establish clear sales goals, KPIs, and performance metrics to track progress and achieve revenue targets.
  • Partner with marketing, product, and operations teams to align sales strategies with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Expand and optimize the agent channel program to maximize indirect sales opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting for executive leadership.
  • Drive a customer-first culture that emphasizes value creation, long-term partnerships, and service excellence.

Required Skills/Abilities:
 
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth across multiple sales channels, including direct and indirect.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of mid-market and enterprise customer dynamics in telecom.
  • Experience building and managing agent/channel partner programs.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive relationship management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Required to regularly travel throughout expansion market territories.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role in telecommunications or a related industry.
