Business Unit Overview:

The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping pensions, universities, foundations, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities.

We are comprised of teams of professionals with expertise spanning many functions working together to meet the unique needs of our clients including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management. Professionals within AIB work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services supporting our clients’ investment objectives. 

The dedicated Family Office, Healthcare, Foundations, Endowments team (FOHFE) leverages the depth and breadth of BlackRock to serve investment staff, treasurers, chief financial officers, and trustees of US nonprofits ranging in size from $50mm to over $50bn. The team provides relationship management, business development, thought leadership, and investment insight to nearly 1,000 organizations, across the range of strategies from passive index allocations to custom multi-asset solutions and alternatives.

Job Description:

  • Design and implement a sales strategy for Foundations and Endowments clients and prospects within the FOHFE team. Meet predetermined targets for net-new revenue, new mandates, and meetings.
  • Develop, maintain and build key prospects and convert prospects to client relationships;
  • Coverage of pre-existing client relationships, defense of existing business and cross sell to grow mandates across multiple strategies; .
  • Identify and diligently pursue new investment opportunities through consultative dialogues with investors. Focus on strategic products for the group as well as mandates that will have the most commercial impact.
  • Effectively develop a cohesive and consistent narrative around the firm’s competitive advantage, investment philosophy, process and the performance of the FOHFE business.
  • Develop product fluency across BlackRock's investment options across indexed, systematic, and active strategies, hedge funds, and private market solutions.  s.
  • Record client activities and opportunities in CRM systems on a timely basis.
  • Work collaboratively with partners within BlackRock to meet clients’ needs and objectives.
  • Lead junior team members on assigned accounts to service clients and implement sales strategy; actively mentor and contribute to their overall career development.
  • Certain amount of domestic travel will be required.

Qualifications:

  •  6-10 years of established track record in an institutional relationship management and fundraising and preferably with a focus on alternative investments.
  • Deep investment knowledge. Strong proficiency across a wide range of traditional and alternative Investment products.
  • Deep industry knowledge, including clear awareness of key issues and financial issues affecting Foundations and Endowments.
  • A developing network of industry referral relationships – investment bankers, legal/accounting firms, and their key stakeholders.
  • BA/BS degree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting). Advanced degree/CFA is desired.
  • Has, or is willing to obtain, the Series 7, 63, and 3 licenses.

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
