Business Function

The Global Financial Markets (GFM) group carries out trading business and offers investment products to regional customers of both Consumer Banking Group and Institutional Banking Group. GFM is an important Business Unit for driving the bank’s growth strategy. 

This position provides operational support to the Global Financial Markets business and assist both internal and external customers on enquiries.


Responsibility 

  • Provide operational support for all Global Financial Markets business/products including FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Structured Deposits and the Bond Connect business.
  • Manage the trade control function in Hong Kong. This includes regulatory reporting, accounting reconciliation and certification, risk and control reporting and monitoring.
  • Coordinate among clients, Regional Processing Centre and GFM Business Units to resolve issues with the objective of improving the end-to-end processes and customers journey.
  • Increase productivity through continuous workflow improvement and upskilling of the team members.
  • Work closely with Regional Processing Centre and GFM Business Units on service quality, system projects / initiatives and new business and products.
  • Prepare and compile reports to regulators including submission to the Hong Kong Trade Repository.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of work experience in treasury or relevant operations, including at least 5 years in a supervisory position.
  • University graduate
  • In-depth knowledge on regulatory reporting and experience of the treasury business and the end-to-end processes of the operational support.
  • Knowledge of Treasury and Markets business and products
  • Knowledge of SWIFT payments, relevant HKMA/SFC regulations and market practices
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel (but VBA is not required)
  • Knowledge on Murex is an advantage
  • Analytical and attention to details with good problem-solving skills
  • Fast learner with strong self-motivation and is flexible to change
  • Customer-oriented and able to manage tasks under pressure
  • Familiar with PC applications, technology and have a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
