Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the new VP, Corporate Data Services will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists and engineers, coordinating with the business to leverage data as a value-creation mechanism for sales, revenue, customer experience, marketing, and more. This role will also oversee the transformation of an on-prem data warehouse to a modern datalake housed in Google Big Query. This is an opportunity to design, implement, and execute modern data practices at scale. We're looking for a solutions-oriented VP, Corporate Data Services who will engage, inform, and influence Senior Leaders to drive prioritization and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement data strategies and processes that align with our business objectives
  • Develop methodologies to utilize financial modeling to drive strategic decision-making and business growth
  • Oversee the transformation of our on-prem data warehouse to a modern datalake leveraging Google BigQuery
  • Lead data migrations at scale and ensure the integrity and security of data
  • Build, lead, and inspire a team of data scientists and engineers to deliver high-quality data services
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and business partners
  • Ensure effective data governance, quality, and security standards are maintained
  • Drive discussions about dependencies and tradeoffs to ensure alignment of timelines across Customer Experience, Finance, Marketing, and Sales

What You'll Need To Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or in any of our Applied Systems offices.

Your experience should include some or all the following:

  • 5+ years of leading data engineering and/or data science teams at a large enterprise with a focus on partnering with business unit leaders to achieve strategic goals
  • 10+ years of data engineering and/or data science experience with a heavy focus on delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a SaaS or tech company
  • Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform data technologies
  • Demonstrated aptitude for risk identification and mitigation
  • Experience in leading data migrations at scale
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and collaborative relationships across the organization
  • Expertise in SDLC practices and Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience with project management and productivity tools (e.g., Atlassian JIRA)
  • Ability to facilitate and influence discussions about enterprise-level technology projects
  • Track record of creative problem-solving with senior leadership within Technology
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Additionally, You May Have

  • Certifications and/or Licenses (Desired): GCP Professional Certifications, Microsoft certifications
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL
  • Extensive experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or Flink
  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of distributed computing principles and experience with parallel processing of large data sets
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
