Position Overview
The Vice President of Capital Markets will support the Managing Director of Investment Operations in oversight of all Fund and SPV financings for Private Equity Secondaries and will partner with the deal teams and the heads of the Private Equity Secondaries business to drive capital efficiency to improve the investor experience and optimize investor returns. This role will work closely within a team of teams which will involve daily cross functional interactions including with investment and transaction execution teams, internal and external counsel, client account managers, product, tax, treasury and fund accounting.
This position will manage end-to-end financing closing processes, build and maintain process transparency across the teams of teams and will establish and adhere to precise timelines for new deals and modifications to existing deals. They will actively monitor market conditions to ensure we are receiving best in class pricing and terms in existing facilities.
This Vice President of Capital Markets will also partner closely with the Private Equity Secondaries team to actively monitor and manage the Funds capital commitments, dry powder and cash and credit balances at the Fund and SPV levels to optimize capital efficiency and drive investor returns.
The right candidate will possess developed capabilities in process management and tactical execution and demonstrated negotiation skills to ensure financings close on time and with market leading terms. They will demonstrate proven experience establishing partnership with asset class leadership teams to drive efficiency in capital management by optimizing investor cash flows, cash and credit utilization and dry powder management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Build and maintain enhanced transparency reporting for financing pipelines and status of existing deals
- Prepare memos and analyses for presentation to investment teams to support capital markets decisions
- Lead end-to-end closing processes across lenders, ratings agencies, counsels and internal stakeholders
- Build technology enabled data driven decision frameworks to drive capital management decisions
- Support continuous technology improvements, integrations and implementations across the platform
- Manage and develop staff to drive successful outcomes for the individuals, team and organization
- Gather market intelligence to ensure we are receiving best in class terms and on top of market trends
- Support special projects as assigned and needed
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
- 6-12 years of private equity secondaries experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Acute attention to accuracy and detail
- Strong time management, prioritization, and proactive communication skills
- Leadership capabilities to drive transactions and projects to close
- Thorough understanding of fund finance fundamentals and key considerations of credit agreements
- Knowledge and experience in best-in-class fund management practices to optimize credit and cash utilization
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with overlapping priorities and shifting deadlines
- Experience with JIRA, Power BI, Excel, Power Pivot, Ontra and document management solutions
- Self-motivated, results oriented, highly organized and fearlessly persistent
Salary Range - $170,000 - $210,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
