Location: New York, NY; San Francisco, CA
Reports to: Global Head of Corporate Markets
About the Role
As AI labs and enterprises race to build more reliable, domain-specific models, the demand for high-quality, human-in-the-loop (HITL) data has skyrocketed. We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader to serve as the primary commercial owner for our AI Training and Human Data business.
This is a high-impact, horizontal leadership role responsible for the end-to-end commercial success of this business unit. You will be tasked with identifying high-value opportunities, building a robust pipeline, and closing complex, consultative deals with technical buyers at the world’s leading AI labs and technology companies. You will act as the entrepreneurial architect of this revenue stream, bridging the gap between GLG’s world-class expert network and the sophisticated data needs of the global AI economy.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Commercial Ownership: Drive the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and pipeline generation to closing seven-figure-plus deals.
- Market Strategy & Execution: Define and execute the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for GLG’s AI data offerings, specifically targeting foundation model providers, big tech, and enterprise AI teams.
- Consultative Solutioning: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to translate GLG’s network of experts into scalable data products and services that solve technical bottlenecks for AI buyers.
- Strategic Growth and Partnerships: Identify and secure high-value commercial partnerships that integrate GLG’s expert intelligence into the workflows of AI infrastructure and data platforms.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the subject-matter expert within GLG, educating client-facing teams on how to uncover and qualify AI-related opportunities within their existing accounts.
Qualifications
- 6-8+ years in strategic sales, business development, or other commercial leadership roles, specifically within the AI/ML, Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), or technical SaaS sectors
- Track record of building a book of business and closing complex deals with technical stakeholders
- Deep understanding of the AI lifecycle: training, fine-tuning, RAG, RLHF, and the importance of data quality/evals
- Understanding of the traditional expert network market, GLG’s offerings, and the value proposition of our industry
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across executive and operational levels
- Experience building a "startup" or new business line within a larger organization; comfortable with ambiguity and rapid pivoting
- Exceptional ability to distill complex technical requirements from AI engineers into actionable, high-impact business proposals
