Job Description
The Vertex Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Job Summary:
U.S. Public Affairs (USPA) works with policymakers, the patient advocacy community, and other key partners and stakeholders to ensure an environment where patients have access to Vertex’s therapies. The intern will work closely with the state and federal government affairs teams with the opportunity to assist in patient advocacy and alliance development.
Key Responsibilities:
The intern will focus mostly on the monitoring, review, and analysis of state and federal legislation that have the potential to impact the company and/or access to Vertex’s medicines, with the opportunity to work on other projects as they come up.
Qualifications:

Undergraduate or graduate degree in the process of being completed and a demonstrated understanding of federal or state government affairs.

Knowledge and/or experience working in health policy preferred.

Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States

Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before August 2025

Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week May - August 2025
