Job Summary

The communications engagement specialist will oversee key communication technology platforms such as SharePoint, ADP, OptiSigns, content management systems, and others, ensuring optimal performance and user engagement. This role requires strong expertise in three core areas: communications technology management, content creation, and event planning.

This role will support the development of compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences and stakeholders, leveraging your creative and writing skills. Additionally, this role will lead the planning and execution of meetings and events, delivering experiences that support Versova’s organizational goals.

The communications engagement specialist is responsible for managing content delivery on digital and technology-based platforms to engage audiences, grow awareness, and drive business growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in technology channels, content development, and metrics reporting. The specialist will develop and implement communication strategies, manage platforms, and collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure consistent messaging.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead platform implementations, upgrades, and serve as the subject-matter expert for communications platforms
  • Own day-to-day platform optimization, governance, and best practices to ensure consistency, accessibility, and audience engagement
  • Partner with internal and external vendors to improve platform functionality and user experience
  • Monitor platform performance and trends; analyze data and recommend improvements
  • Support the planning and development of company-wide communications initiatives and channel strategy
  • Support events such as farm visits, leadership meetings, and training programs, focusing on engagement strategy
  • Stay current on trends in audience engagement and communications technology for diverse audiences
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide expert guidance on best practices to maximize platform performance
  • Collaborate closely with the communications team to ensure alignment with branding and communication goals
  • Coordinate language translation for visual materials
  • Maintain asset files, ensuring proper organization and retention
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, digital engagement, or communications technology
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of communications technology tools including AI
  • Strong analytical, creative skills, and technical skills
  • Experience managing or supporting communications platforms and engagement tools
  • High level understanding of communications platforms (e.g., intranets, employee apps, virtual meeting tools)
  • Comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong writing, editing and proof-reading skills, including video scripts and blogs
  • Data-informed mindset with the ability to interpret engagement metrics
  • Experience planning and executing internal events

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based but requires approximately 10% travel on an intermittent, as-needed basis. The position demands the ability to work in various climate conditions, including extreme cold, and lift up to 50 lbs. The work environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability to changing communication needs and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Some evening or weekend work may be necessary for crisis communication or time-sensitive projects.
