If you’re excited to scale advisory programs and help bring breakthrough technologies to market - we’d love to connect!

Who we are:

  • FedTech is a group of entrepreneurially minded people on a mission to unlock the benefits of technology.
  • We believe in the value of deep tech and its positive impact on the world, aspiring to democratize access to it for entrepreneurs and professionals around the world.
  • We are venture builders who thrive at the intersection of US entrepreneurship, breakthrough technologies, and mission-driven organizations.
  • Since 2015, we have supported over 1,000 companies that have collectively raised more than $5B in funding, while also partnering with hundreds of corporate, government, and university clients.
What you’ll do:

We are seeking a Venture Strategy Consultant to lead high-impact commercialization engagements for SBIR/STTR-funded dual-use startups. This role is delivery-focused and analytical, combining structured research, founder-facing advisory work, and disciplined execution within a defined commercialization framework. You will work directly with early-stage companies, especially in defense and energy markets, helping translate complex technologies into actionable commercialization strategy.

Typical functions include:

  • Lead TABA consulting engagements with SBIR/STTR-funded small businesses to support commercialization of emerging technologies.
  • Conduct structured interviews with founders and technical teams to assess value propositions, R&D strategy, commercialization readiness, and market positioning.
  • Perform technical, competitive, and market diligence using structured frameworks and AI-enabled research tools.
  • Synthesize information and develop actionable next steps, commercialization roadmaps, techno-economic assessments, and strategic growth recommendations.
  • Actively engage with external networks, including investors, industry partners, federal program offices, and ecosystem stakeholders to inform advisory work and create actionable connections for clients.
  • Provide guidance across SBIR/STTR pathways, non-dilutive funding strategy, IP positioning, compliance considerations, and capital readiness.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality written reports and strategic briefings that inform critical growth decisions.
  • Manage engagement timelines, expectations, and deliverable quality across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Contribute ideas to continuously improve internal tools, templates, and AI-driven workflows.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in consulting, venture advisory, innovation programs, or technology commercialization or equivalent advanced education with 2+ years of experience
  • Familiarity with the U.S. SBIR/STTR ecosystem; prior TABA experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to synthesize technical and competitive information into clear commercialization strategy.
  • Experience working with early-stage startups, particularly in defense, dual-use, or energy markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage professional networks across innovation, investment, or federal technology ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently while delivering several client engagements in parallel within a structured advisory framework.
  • Clear enthusiasm for leveraging AI and modern research tools to increase analytical depth and delivery efficiency.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting technical or strategic reports.
  • Interest in defense and/or energy innovation ecosystems
  • Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced advisory environment.

Our Values:

  • Boldness: We have the fortitude to forge new paths and push beyond our comfort
  • Unity: We treat our clients, team members and partners as we would like to be treated - we are one united team
  • Introspection: We recognize introspection is the necessary ingredient in which self-improvement flourishes
  • Leadership: We embrace servant leadership - putting the interests of client, team partners and partners first
  • Decisiveness: We have a strong bias towards action
