About the Position:
The V1 level tech will report to the Video Operations Manager. They are responsible for preparing and operating LED systems, directing on-site implementation of various video systems including cameras, switchers, projectors and livestreaming. The role will also mentor V2 level technicians on industry practices. This role requires extensive knowledge of Video installation in temporary settings for both outdoor and indoor venues. Most work will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, with occasional regional travel. Pay rate is commensurate with experience, ranging from $20-$24 per hour, with opportunity for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:- Help plan and engineer configurations of Video LED walls (mobile + modular), playback, projection, switching, and operating camera systems.
- Preparing equipment as needed in the shop, and conducting quality control checks upon return.
- Directing the implementation of equipment during: transportation, load in, show, load out.
- Collaborate with technical teams to align video requirements with event goals.
- Coordinate LED equipment maintenance, repairs, and suggest possible upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve video issues quickly during setup and live events.
- Help mentor, lead, and support technicians and crew (Union/House) to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure all practices comply with industry safety and regulatory standards.
- Excellent adaptability and client service skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with clients and peers.
- Serve as on-site technical lead based on the needs of the events.
- Assist other company departments as work demands require.
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies:
- Relevant degree or certification in Video or related fields preferred.
- Proven expertise as a V1 in live event production, with a strong track record in various events (touring, corporate, theatre, and concerts).
- Proficiency in the following Video systems:
- Building video walls
- Matrix switchers
- Understanding of video resolutions and signal types
- Various digital video players and/or recording devices
- Small and Large Venue projectors and projection screens
- Robotic and manned cameras
- Color correction and white balance adjustment
- Knowledge of live streaming and video capture workflows.
- Able to deploy video wall trailers (SP-100).
- Perform on site Video rigging and can identify compromised rigging hardware.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and low voltage wiring.
- Stay calm under pressure and resolve technical issues in real-time.
- Can work independently as well as on a team.
- Strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (or willingness to learn).
- Familiarity with Lasso (or willingness to learn).
- Familiarity with Flex Inventory Software (or willingness to learn)
- Maturity and understanding of the artistic process and the ability to work closely with clients, including artists, performers, and designers, in a diplomatic way.
- Operate a company owned vehicle including box trucks, pick up trucks, or cargo vans.
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain DOT medical clearance.
- CDL Class A is a plus - or willingness to acquire one.
- Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
What we are not looking for:
- A video editor, content creator, or studio-based producer without live event experience.
- Lacking hands-on experience with LED walls, video signal flow, and field production gear.

- Must be able to independently travel to off-site locations, potentially on short notice.
- Must be willing to work in outdoor venues which may experience inclement weather and varying temperatures.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
