About this PositionThe UX/UI Design Intern will support the Strategic Design team by contributing to journey documentation, design system support, research, and design exploration initiatives. This role will focus on documenting experiences, organizing insights, supporting UX/UI design work, and strengthening shared design artifacts used across teams. The intern will gain hands-on experience in enterprise-scale UX practices, design systems, and research synthesis while collaborating closely with designers on active projects.Salary range is $18–$22 per hour, depending on the student’s undergraduate level. Salary ranges for graduate students may vary.Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Document end-to-end journeys, moments that matter (MTM), capabilities, and personas within the XP Hub to support experience strategy and alignment.
- Organize, synthesize, and document Rep and Client insights, including research findings, feedback, and design learnings.
- Support the OneX Design System by contributing to documentation for components, patterns, and UX consistency guidelines within Confluence.
- Shadow UX designers on active projects and assist with research activities, wireframes, UI design tasks, and design iterations as appropriate.
- Conduct competitive and inspiration research by capturing UI patterns, onboarding flows, and best practices from external products and experiences.
- Support the ETO team by polishing existing presentation decks or helping create a new PowerPoint template to improve clarity and visual consistency.
- Explore AI tools and Figma plug-ins, documenting pros/cons, use cases, and recommendations that support team workflows.
- Create simple “how-to” guides, examples, or prompt libraries to help the team responsibly and effectively use AI tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with UX/UI design fundamentals, including user journeys, wireframes, mockups, and basic research concepts.
- Experience using design tools such as Figma or similar design software.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly document work and insights.
- Ability to organize information, follow guidelines, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or experience in UX/UI design, including interaction design, visual design, or interface design principles.
- Coursework or experience related to UX research, design systems, or service design.
- Familiarity with documenting design work in tools such as Confluence, Miro, or similar collaboration platforms.
- Experience using design tools such as Figma, including components, layouts, and basic prototyping.
- Interest or exposure to AI tools, Figma plug-ins, or emerging design technologies.
- Experience creating presentations or visual storytelling in PowerPoint, Google Slides, or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a passion for improving both user and business outcomes through design.
