Process Engineer applies engineering knowledge and skills to support the synthesis of starting materials, pharmaceutical intermediates, and final bulk products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. The role focuses on understanding, monitoring, and managing process performance, ensuring high-quality outcomes, and driving continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide process engineering support for established processes; analyze data and initiate continuous improvement.
- Design, implement, and support new process introductions, scale-ups, or process modifications.
- Manage ESHS (Environmental, Safety, Health & Security), quality, cycle time, and equipment availability requirements.
- Collaborate closely with customers and project teams.
- Provide technical expertise in core process engineering disciplines: mixing, material science, heat transfer, mass transfer, filtration, and drying.
- Identify capacity constraints and projects to streamline processes and remove bottlenecks.
- Recommend near- and long-term capital planning to support equipment reliability and competitiveness.
- Serve as project lead to implement process improvements.
- Complete process engineering aspects of client proposals.
- Perform oversight for product chains and maintain current knowledge of regulations, engineering standards, and good practices.
- Drive continuous improvement within the engineering function.
- Develop, write, and review production policies and procedures; assist others in executing job responsibilities efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, related Engineering, or Chemistry.
- Minimum 3 years of chemical engineering experience (in a manufacturing environment).
- Experience in multiple production facilities, scales, and technology platforms.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to overcome challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence groups without direct supervisory authority.
- Strong computer skills across various software packages.
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering and business principles.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
