Job Description

Summary

UX Researchers at Checkout.com design world-class financial products and payment experiences that are intuitive, empowering, and grounded in user needs. You’ll be an integral part of the product development process, shaping ideas, designing end-to-end flows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver elegant solutions that drive impact for our merchants.

Across all functions, we have the shared mission of ensuring that our users’ experiences are nothing short of exceptional. We strive to deeply understand what drives our users and how we may consistently deliver thoughtful solutions that drive impact for our merchants.

About the role

We are a team that succeeds together. We are looking for a self-driven and hands-on UX Researcher who finds personal fulfillment in the collective success of the impact we have on user experiences. As we believe in-person collaboration supports the collaborative culture at Checkout.com, you’d be working in a hybrid model with three days in the office per week.

You will join an ambitious team working on innovative solutions for our merchants globally. In your day to day, you’d be taking ownership of scoped product areas whilst partnering closely with Product to deliver high quality design work with clarity and focus. You’ll report to the UX Research Senior Manager as part of the Product Design organization.

  • You are an empathetic and agile researcher who understands internal users and B2B customer needs. You are able to expertly apply a range of user research methods, including when and how to apply different methods in various scenarios to uncover key insights.

  • You leverage tools, including AI, to create and optimize research documentation, making it easy for stakeholders to access, understand, and act on the data.

  • You are comfortable presenting your findings, efficiently identifying and communicating crucial takeaways to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • You have a growth mindset and are eager to pursue self-development. You actively share your learnings and best practices, contributing to the collective knowledge and growth of the team.

About you

Our ideal candidate would be comfortable working independently within a given scope and able to simplify the complexity in order to drive product and user success.

  • A strong collaborator who sees team success as personal success. You actively contribute to the growth of the entire UX function—its craft, culture, and operations—by working together to solve problems.

  • Proactive in improving research processes for the benefit of the entire team. You are eager to test new tools and make business cases that help the Design team be more efficient and effective.

  • A humble and curious learner who values feedback and understands that the best insights come from diverse perspectives. You are keen to learn from everyone around you.

  • A bridge-builder who works to foster a collaborative culture across all teams—design, product, engineering, operations, compliance and commercial. You seek to first understand others' perspectives and challenges to create more cohesive and effective working relationships.

  • Adaptable and flexible in fast-paced environments. You are resourceful and can apply a variety of UX methodologies, finding the best approach for a project in collaboration with the team.

  • A passionate advocate for user-centric thinking who takes pride in helping the entire organization understand and value research. You see your role not just as conducting research, but as helping to raise the bar for user-centric thinking across all teams.

Your background and competencies
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to identify research topics, prioritize research plans and deliver critical insights in a timely manner.

  • Translating business problems into research projects that resulted in recommendations that support product development strategies.

  • Examining existing data to write hypotheses and apply appropriate research methodologies to answer product questions.

  • Defining and measuring UX metrics in collaboration with Designers, Data Analysts, Engineers, Product Managers, Operations and Commercial stakeholders.

  • Effectively communicating user insights through varied delivery approaches.

  • Bringing stakeholders along with you as you uncover user needs for product development opportunities.

  • Driving efficiency in research operations by improving participant recruitment pipelines and creating or managing a centralized research repository that makes insights easily accessible to the team.
