About the team:
The eCommerce Decision Science Platform & Engineering team builds the technology that enables analytics, experimentation, AI/ML, and intelligent automation across Walmart eCommerce. We partner closely with Data Science, AI/ML, Product, UX, and Platform teams to transform complex data and AI capabilities into scalable, intuitive experiences. Our work includes modern analytics applications, GenAI experiences, AI agents, reusable UI platforms, and enterprise engineering capabilities designed to support large numbers of users and critical business workflows. The team combines strong engineering fundamentals with emerging technologies to accelerate innovation and deliver impactful solutions at Walmart scale.
What you'll do:
- Design, build, and scale production-grade frontend applications and reusable UI capabilities supporting analytics, experimentation, GenAI, and AI agents. Develop modern web experiences using React, TypeScript, design systems, data visualization, and API integrations. Build intuitive interfaces for conversational AI, streaming responses, agent workflows, and complex enterprise applications. Establish engineering standards for frontend architecture, performance, accessibility, security, testing, and reliability. Partner closely with Backend Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, UX, Product, and Platform teams while providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving scalable solutions across Walmart eCommerce.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
- Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript and frameworks like React JSX, alongside CSS frameworks for front-end development.
- Skilled in DevOps engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, observability, and monitoring to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Ability to lead system design reviews and apply technical judgment to balance trade-offs and long-term impacts.
- Demonstrated capability in mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.
- Data-driven decision-making skills to define success metrics and optimize development processes.
