About the team:
Stride TMS is Walmart’s strategic transportation platform focused on modernizing and optimizing freight movement across the supply chain. The team develops large-scale distributed systems, automation, and operational intelligence that enhance transportation planning and execution throughout Walmart’s extensive logistics network. As the business grows, the team addresses complex engineering challenges in scalability, reliability, AI-driven operations, and supply chain innovation. Members apply cloud-native architecture principles and advanced technical solutions to deliver high-impact, reliable systems that support Walmart’s logistics and transportation goals.
What you'll do:

• Lead platform engineering efforts by delivering scalable infrastructure, reusable tooling, and cloud-native architectures aligned with strategic roadmaps.
• Drive full software development lifecycle across multiple teams, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and real-time data processing capabilities.
• Architect and integrate AI-enhanced applications using advanced programming languages and model-driven design principles.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, promoting engineering excellence and standardization across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and measurable success metrics.
• Champion continuous improvement by adopting new technologies and refining processes to enhance system performance and reliability.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership, delivering scalable infrastructure and reusable tooling.
• Proficiency in cloud-native architecture and distributed system design ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Strong technical expertise in AI/ML integration, software development lifecycle, and continuous integration/deployment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical execution, maintain architectural decision records, and drive cross-team collaboration.
• Skilled in applying model-driven design and leveraging modern development tools to enhance productivity and quality.
• Proven mentorship and leadership capabilities fostering engineering excellence and innovation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer-centric metrics and operational success.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
