Job DescriptionSUMMARY
This is a skilled position in the assembly and upholstery of furniture including but not limited to stools and exam tables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects raw material at the start of each new order for imperfections.
- Fits, installs and secures material on frames using hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, glue and/or staples.
- Upholsters a variety of components using hand strength, pneumatic upholstery press and trade techniques to stretch and form materials to frames.
- Reads production schedule to ensure work order components are completed in a timely manner.
- Checks completed work visually for accuracy.
- Assists with and is cross trained in other areas; performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all Company Policies and Procedures and incorporates sound safety and housekeeping practices in day to day work environment.

QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
Responsible for adhering to the established GFHP’s quality system and facility procedures in your respective department. Responsible for identifying problems that can have an impact on product quality and reporting the information to your supervisor. Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures and incorporate sound safety and housekeeping practices in performing day to day functions in the work environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); in addition to three (3) years experience with industrial upholstery, including selecting materials, using upholstery tools and equipment and performing the actual upholstery work or a demonstrated aptitude to perform the required upholstery tasks.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

The employee must be able to stand and walk for the entire work day.
