Job Description Summary

The incumbent will oversee, coordinate and assist in the screening, recruitment and enrollment of research participants, the collection of psychological and biological research data, data entry on case report forms and electronically, and organizational tasks including study status updates for the Principal Investigator in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The research coordinator will be responsible for maintaining regulatory and training documents as required by Federal, State, Local, Institutional protocol regulations and policies. The research coordinator will provide administrative/technical assistance with grant proposals, internal/external audits, and publication and dissemination of research findings.

Job Description

FLSA: Hourly

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Coordinate and manage tracking of all research participants, which includes recruitment, screening, scheduling, enrolling, completion of study visits, and reimbursement of all research participants.

  • 20% - Document participant data in research records and manage participant electronic and paper files, including data entry.

  • 20% - Collect routine clinical psychometric assessments.

  • 10% - Initiate and maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation as required by the Institutional Review Board and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines in connection with research trials.

  • 5% - Scrutinize on an ongoing basis the effectiveness of study procedures and suggest changes in procedures when indicated.

  • 5% - Maintain research supplies and equipment.

  • 5% - Conduct study visits and/or recruitment outreach after regular work hours or off campus when necessary to accommodate participants’ schedules, ability to travel, and sites for recruitment.

  • 5% - Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Training and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biology, social science or quantitative field. Experience on federally-funded research studies and/or pharmaceutical trials preferred.

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three years of relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
