Position description:

The Unit Coordinator handles the administrative duties of the nursing unit.  Unit Coordinator needs to perform clerical duties to maintain an organized healthcare office and allow medical staff to focus on patient care that may be required by the Memory Care Nurse Manager/and or Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).   This helps ensure the privacy of patient information. He or she also maintains a line of communication between the patient and clinical staff.

Part Time Evening Hours Mon-Fri around 2:00pm-6:00pm or 3:00pm-7:00pm.  

Compensation: $16-18.80/ hour based upon experience 

Duties:

  • Maintains daily census listing, daily room assignment listing, physician/resident list, and other lists as needed.

  • Thins medical records of in-house residents and delivers to Health Information Management.

  • Performs routine audits of in-house charts to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Files lab/diagnostic reports and other chart forms upon receipt.  Scanning appropriate medical records unto the electronic medical record.

  • Maintains Medicare certification forms on in-house Medicare skilled residents.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of medical records by ensuring compliance with chart sign-out forms and authorizations for release of information.

  • Stocks nursing station with proper chart and documentation forms and other supplies as needed.

  • Be available to answer phone calls to nursing unit.  Assist visitors and others in seeking needed information for resident care.  Provide assistance to unit’s clerical needs as requested.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent. 
  • Computer experience required in Word and Excel. 
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
  • Prior experience with electronic medical records preferred, but not required. 
  • Ability to multitask.
