What the Role Entails

Are you eager to help both build a team from scratch and produce a game that’ll have a global impact?
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Publishing and Marketing Director to join our new AAA team, Uncapped Games in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate for this role will help create an all-new and original IP to revolutionize RTS games for players globally.
We are looking for someone who can drive our publishing and marketing needs from the game development team side. Let’s hype players up for what’s coming from Uncapped Games!

  • A Publishing and Marketing Director provides oversight and leadership across the wider marketing team including marketing, community, influencer, PR, digital, eCRM and social
  • Under the direction of the AGM PC/Console Publishing sets the strategic direction and marketing objectives for each project/game
  • Directs the overall go to market plan in line with budgets and sales expectations
  • Aligns projects with the company’s business objectives, quality requirements and player expectations
  • Works closely with senior members of the development studio teams to align publishing and development objectives as well as providing guidance to help optimize game quality, retention and monetization strategies
  • Analyze performance data to help identify challenges and opportunities for publishing and marketing
  • Manages any external partnerships which may result in additional promotions or co-marketing opportunities
  • Pays close attention to our audience to identify and then execute on ways to engage with them better to help improve results
  • Continually monitor game analytics, along with media and marketing performance metrics to make recommendations, helping ensure success with our business goals
  • Collaborate with platform holders or other 3rd party partners to maximize visibility and promotional opportunities
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, creativity and data-driven decision making
  • Be a product expert
  • Maintains a strong understanding of market trends, industry innovation, player engagement strategies and distribution models
  • Has worked across multiple genres, distribution channels and business models

Who We Look For

  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines and teams
  • A proven history of planning and executing on a variety of global publishing, marketing and PR plans for successful titles
  • Proactive, always looking for new opportunities to push the game’s success further
  • Experience shipping a AAA game, covering the full range of development from production planning all the way to post-launch support
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for RTS games, bringing to the table an understanding of what makes them work well as a genre
  • Familiar with the intricacies of free to play games, knowing how to be successful in this space
  • A great teammate with strong leadership and collaboration skills who is comfortable with open and constant communication
  • At least 10+ years of marketing and brand management experience, preferably on high profile titles

  • Experience working in the RTS genre
  • Able to work effectively with all game development disciplines
  • Excellent experience with presenting and reporting on the status of initiatives
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of team sizes

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $126,360.0 to $263,520.0 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
